Trim Dressing

Apart from ETR or Black Again what in your experience is the best semi-permanent trim dressing for faded trim pieces?

Car Pro Dlux or Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus.

We have our Turbo Wax Tire and Exterior Trim with Polycharger. Will not sling :)

3D Trim Protectant is very good. Not permanent but it last several weeks and a 16 oz bottle will last most people (expect anyone foolish enough to own an Aztec) quite a while.

The owner told me that after 4 months it was still looking good.

Forget the Aztec LOL, I did an Avalanche and that thing had more plastic trim that anything I've ever seen :(

Gtechniq's C4 is the longest lasting I've tried.

After C4, the next longest lasting for me has been Ultima's Trim and Tire Guard. I used this on my tires 2 weeks ago and my girlfriend asked if I just dressed them today. She's a big "tire shine" fan and often asks me to put a fresh coat on her tires. lol

I've also had good luck with the 3D Trim Protectant--been on the black clading around the entire bottom of my Passat for 2 months now and still looks good--can't beat the price.

I did not like the Mothers back 2 black or my 16oz bottle of CG super VRP. The super VRP was ok, I didn't care for the look. The back 2 black never seemed to dry evenly no matter what I did.

Right now I have a bottle of SCG beyond black that I have been using and it actually last pretty well compared to the VRP. Maybe I wasn't getting the surface clean enough but I never got much durability out of it.

I really liked the look of that CQuartz stuff in the other thread. I will most likely end up just throwing some of the 3d stuff in my cart on my next order.

I use the Ultima Trim and Tire Guard for trim that's in decent condition; I usually prep with Griot's Rubber Prep (freakin' miracle product!).

When I'm going the "slime" route, I like Autoglym's Bumper Care.

Then there's the KAIO topped with KSG or 845 route.

I've had very good success with Ultima Tire and Trim Guard Plus. I always clean the trim well first. The Griot's Rubber Prep is a very good product and their Rubber Cleaner has also worked well for me. I've also had success with Megs APC+ at 10:1 as a pre-cleaner. Proper Prep will be the key to any of the above mentioned products.
