TW spends more in R&D then every company out there. Sure we have all been unimpressed with their products. But sometimes you have to go out on the limb because that is where the fruit is.

I'm very skeptical of that claim.

The article was published in the USA Today about 2 years ago. it was about "the car wash industry changing" and to paraphrase, they said TW "the worlds largest" spends more in R&D than any other company with Meguiars being a close 2nd.

What are you talking about? I listed many of the top choices. This was nothing about Zaino. This was about any top brands and if they had made this....Get off your high horse.

For basically the same price, I'll stick to my clay bar.

And no, my clar bar isn't made by Zaino, Zymol, Menzerna or whomever. At least I know that it works and isn't hiding anything in my paint. I've never been disappointed by my traditional clay bar, so why make the switch when the product I would switch to has fillers, which I choose not to use in my details?

A good buddy of mine has a close friend who works for Turtle wax. My buddy can get Turtle Wax products at a great discount and he still doesn't use them on his vehicle. To me, thats more of a testament than anything else.

I just do not see how a liquid can pull contaminents from the paint. What chemicals are in this solution then?? Is it compromising the long term durability of a clearcoat?

You may be right, but sometimes technology changes things. I agree that if something works why fix it. But years ago, people thought that about a lot of products that we dont use anymore. Why did we change to WW towels? Why did people try OptiSeal or CS? Many things come via research.

C'mon Josh . . . it's pretty obvious from your posting history that you have some sort of issue with Zaino. Lately, it's rare that you pass up a chance to remind everyone of that, and it is getting old. The first person to bring up Zaino in this thread was you. Yeah, you mentioned a few other brands in there to try to make it less obvious, but anyone who is familiar with your posts knows what's up.

Stop. Stop throwing matches at gas puddles. Stop trying to stir up crap. Any more off-topic/antagonistic jabs at Zaino or Zaino users, and I'm just going to start deleting the posts without notice. Keep it up, and timeout is the next step.

Thanks,

You have some issues....I am a Zaino user. I use Z-5 pro all the time....If you have a problem with my posting, tell me....But why is it okay for someone to bring up brands in every thread that comes up, but I bring up a few brands it is no good. Relax. THe fact is if you read my post, it is entirely true. If Zaino or Pinnacle or Menzerna or someone else made this product, people would be wetting themselves to get some.

Josh,

Apparently, you missed the postscript:

If you wish to discuss this, take it offline. Another off-topic post to this thread, and it's straight to timeout.

A forum member PMed me and pointed out that the (cough) unpleasantness at the end of the thread had killed discussion on the original topic, which was not my intent. I've removed the last few messages to try to restore the flow of discussion. Please, if you have experience, questions, or comments regarding Turtle Wax ICE Liquid Clay Bar, by all means please continue the discussion in this thread. A warning, however: remain on topic.

Thanks,

Thats easy, I jumped on CS, without caring what othres said about it, because it came from an already outstanding line of products. I wouldn't use turtle wax products if I were paid to.

I think my main reservation about this product is that it's not really a time saver and actually would cause me to do more work. I already clay with the remaining water after washing the car, using QD when needed. I always follow up claying with a polish and I don't trust that this product will remove swirls as much as it fills them in so it's not something i'm interested in.

Clay bars are kind of intimidating to the non-Autopian..I was a little worried about clay before trying it out, so I can see this being less 'scary'

that's funny you say that because that was one of the things I pointed out as possibly being an issue if clay was widely advertised truthfully explaining how it "removes" contaminants from the paint. I guess it's scary to some as is.

I can see this product here being great for the non-autopian, it removes contaminants from the paint, "removes" swirls, and leaves behind a nice shine all in one easy to do step.
