Trend active Mf's

Where on Earth are you finding all these MF sources? The least you can do is post weblinks for all these companies so we can have a look for ourselves.

Have you done a SEARCH using these company names to determine if someone else has posted comments on them?

BTW, your comments about CMA and their info on MF's? You stated in another thread they were "biased". Let's put aside the fact that Terry Freiberg was one of the first e-tailers to offer microfiber anything and that most everyone else on the market has come along after CMA helped establish microfiber towels as a "gotta have" product for detailers, how do you know that all these other companies aren't biased as well? I mean, all these people are trying to do the same thing - sell microfiber products to car enthusiasts. Isn't everyone in the MF business "biased"?

Bretfraz,

I meant no disrespect. If I came off that I way I apologize. I'm sure CMA products are very fine indeed. Their website, informative as it is, is designed to sell their product, and only their product. This is the way it should be. However it IS biased to their product. Do you actually think they would tell me of other equal products (assuming there are some)? Of course not. Neither would I. I was simply stating that.

What I am looking for is an informational web site on micro fiber technology. One that prehaps has nothing at stake. This way I could do the research and decide on the best type for my needs.

My wife bought me these "trend active" car detailing MF's. They are subnamed "Auto Tecnik." They are quite different than the terry style that I just bought from Microfiber Technique. These are suede like, extremely soft with no nap or loop, they are completely flat and smooth. She bought them from a woman in Canada. Her name and number is: Lorna, 250-842-6725, email healthfood@uniserve.com. I think they are made in Germany and are very expensive, $17.50 a piece! They are not bound on the edges, rather the are cut in a zig zag pattern.

Also these are supposed to be boiled before the first use and washed out with hot water only. Quite different than other MF's

Here is the website:

www.trend-products.de/english/index.html

However I cant find the "auto tecnik" type on this site. If you

scroll down to the face cloths they look exactly like that.

I emailed the woman who sold us the last batch and asked her to send me a web link. As soon as I have more information I will post it. I plan to use them this weekend. I'm a rookie but I will post my impressions and reslts.

Cheers.

Neatitems.com has been selling the suede MF's for years. www.neatitems.com -just look for the microfiber products. The prices are pretty good. I have a few and they are great for final polishing or as a washcloth:cool:

Hi,

As I understood it, the nap of the "terry" Mf's are supposed to be safer for use on the car because they have the capacity to pull debris away from tne surface. CMA has "The Max" finishing MF which I did purchase and stopped using after a couple of uses. It wasn't bad , I just like a thicker nap for the car's finish.

The suede or smoother MF's work well on my glasses and my wife likes them for around the house.

At this point I have all of what CMA offers, PakShak's, JTInternational's, NeatItems and a couple of Yo Steves. All of these except "The Max" are the terry style MF's and I am happy with all of them and I have not had any problems.

If you are in doubt, do the CD scratch test. If all is well try it on your car in a small out of the way spot and if O.K. go for it.

Aside for the above towels, I understand that people also like MicroFiberTech's and DF's microfiber towels.

Regards, Eric

I did the CD test. What I found was interesting.

1. 100% cotton. scratched the cd

2. 100% cotton lubricated with Z6 No visible scratches.

3. Terry MF No scratches (dry)

4. Suede no scratches (dry)

Conclsion:

My swirls were comming from cotton towels and not enough librication during Qd

Thanks guys.
