Traveled to FL and did a detail

With the spring semester approaching in 2 weeks I decided that I needed a bit of a vacation to recharge the batteries. Just so happens that my friend's mom wanted her 05 Prius detailed. Unfortunately this car does ~90 mile round trip 5 days a week for work and they're right on the coast and the love bugs have definitely left their mark on the front of the car so short of wetsanding the front will never be what it should be. Anyway, here are the results.

I got them from Autogeek. They had a 6 for 14.99 deal a couple months ago and I got 12 of them. So far I love them! That's a 4" flexible backing plate. I love them actually. It really increases the amount of correction you can achieve with a DA. No problem bout the thread-jack!

Lokks great! I love the pics of the car being cleaned! Megs #80 finishes with lots of oils in the paintwork, AIO would have removed those. Many people go from #80 to wax as its like laying down a glaze. You can probably save yourself a step next time!

Nice job man, you should have gotten a hold of me!

Todd,

I would have but it was just one of those favors for a family friend type of deal. I'll be back down here in March for a week. Hopefully then we can meet up and possibly work together on a project.

I agree with you and many times I do just go LSP after #80 but I was using the 80 to get rid of some of the micro marring that the IP left in certain places and I love using AIO on black and red because it seems to give the paint a deeper glow. Thanks though :dance

That car is hideous, but your work surely isn't. :)

Yeah, you made that Prius look its best!

I see a lot of Priuses (is that the plural form of Prius?) around the DC area. It's not a sexy car to begin with, but it seems that none of these Prius owners ever wash their cars! Why is that?

Maybe they are just being "green"...lol

Dirty car = no water used to clean?:scared:

It's bad enough to be seen inside it, let alone outside of it showing you actually give a rat's a$$ about it.

Wow! Why all the venom toward this car, BuffMe?

They get great gas mileage, are reasonably peppy, better interior fit and finish than many in their price range, and the hatch is thoughtfully desiged to be useful. I don't have one, but when they come out with the re-engineered 2009, I'm going to consider it. Toyota has said they are going to try to hit 80 mpg, real world, with the new one.

Haha, simply b/c they are fugly, not because it's not efficient. It's purely a cosmetic issue.

Also, one thing people don't realize, but soon will, is that all the money they are saving now when buying a hybrid, tax breaks, less gas, etc will eventually be spent on replacing that battery. As of now, it runs $4-$6k. Whether or not you save money in the end is completely subjective.

I'm with you on that one BuffMe. I also don't like the stigma associated with most (not all) Prius owners. I have no problem with being environmentally conscious, but many of the people who own those on the West Coast typically look at every other on the highway with disdain and are extremely self-righteous.

However, despite the car, great work to the OP on the work.

Maybe this link about the South Park Toyonda Pious will explain Prius people to you...
