Transgressions

He is supposed to be - what - 30 years old ???
How old do you have to be to function as a real adult ??
Perhaps his inspiration is Michael Phelps - another idiot until he finally wised up..

I like to think that it`s never too late for somebody to grow up/change their ways though it`s a lot easier for a certain Personality Type and for people of higher intelligence. IMO it`s probably *harder* for people who have some Big Talent, if only because our society tends to cut them a lot of slack at least when that Talent involves athletics.

Seems like Phelps *did* wise up, and I give him a lot of credit for that as he could`ve just gotten by on his swimming abilities.

Sad is that we expect any of these people to be perfect! They are human. They have some talent, big whoop. That doesn`t make them not human. Hes an idiot just like 80%+ of the spoiled dudes who have some talent that can make his highschool the best in the State. Ya can`t expect him to think any different when his whole life he was made out to be this "god" cause he could swim/play a sport.

dcjredline- Agree completely! Heh heh, you wouldn`t believe the, uhm...preferential treatment....some athletes (and worse yet their Coaches) expected back when I was teaching. Though it *was* kinda fun bursting those bubbles and introducing them to a different reality where their ability to play games meant absolutely nothing ;)

Ronkh- Oh you pot-stirrer you....

Having "agreed completely" with your post yesterday, now I`ll *disagree* with part of it :D

I don`t think it`s expecting somebody to "be perfect" to expect them to not destroy stuff (let alone other people`s stuff) without a very good reason. Drunk or sober. IMO fully functioning adult Humans just don`t do stuff like that, ever. None of the people I associate with behave that way; if they did I`d *dis*associate myelf from them pronto.

To me, destroying property without a reason isn`t even Proper Human Behavior as it`s utterly lacking in Reason. Admitedly I set the bar pretty high, I don`t even cut slack when people raise their voices because they get hurt or angry. That`s the kind of behavior people oughta grow out of by the time they wear long pants.

Eh, everybody knows she lied about that one...nobody seems to care. [Heck], *I* don`t really care if only because *of course* (the vast majority of) Politicians lie through their teeth all the time on all sorts of subjects even when there`s no reason/potential payoff and it`s blatantly obvious that they`re doing so. It`s like "pathological liar" is part of the Job Requirement or something..

Heh heh, when it comes to topics like The Two-Way Range, I suspect that Hillary is so clueless that she could quite possibly have believed it really happened, and once she`d talked about it...well, you know how the Clintons never admit they`re wrong, much *less* that they`ve lied.

I`d bet on it that there is more to the story then what both sides are letting on. Missing video doesn`t help Brazils case and they try to make it like this is the only incident. Swimmers and boaters became sick, other athletes were robbed and they never showed any of poverty that lines the streets of Brazil.

As far as I see it, no one is perfect.

Lochte loses sponsors..................

Hillary gets more.

Ironic

Ironic

Nah, IMO it`s not really ironic if only because both are so utterly predictable. I just don`t see the irony...(sorry, guess I`m being pedantic again :o ).

And IMO ya can`t compare the two because he Behaved Badly in a way that affected somebody and then lied to cover it up, she just lied (again).

And (also just IMO) there`s ZERO wrong with his having lost sponsorships for egregiously bad behavior. I honestly don`t get why people cut him slack for what he did. If some [wild animal] started tearing up a service station many people would say "just shoot it!".

(What if he`d irreparably vandalized some Autopian`s perfect, irreplaceable car?)

Yeah, I`m all about the Bad Behavior, though I do find it odd that people like him don`t learn the "..it`s always the Cover-Up..." lesson that`s been on display since forever. (This all happened so shortly after the day in Aug. when Nixon resigned!)

Had he just said something like the following, I would`ve given him a complete pass:

"I did something bad, something utterly shameful. Although I was extremely drunk, I recognize that there`s no excuse for what I did. I plan to devote my immediate future to determining why I behaved that way so I can learn how to never do anything like that again. I respectfully ask for your understanding and for the privacy I need to work through this."

Why [shoot], had he said that to the guys at the service station and paid for the damage and kept his mouth shut, it could`ve maybe been a complete non-incident. But then he wouldn`t have learned that he needs to behave and that might`ve lead to something even worse.

Now you stop that, we were discussing her fib about being under fire va. Lotche ;)

I bet that Benghazi *has* been as big a deal, even moreso, than his behavior. Didn`t cost her the way it`ll cost him, but that`s just because the GOP wouldn`t give her competition that could actually win. Spun properly with the right alternative in place, it might`ve been a nail in the coffin of her Political Career.

I don`t think the msm would have given it the attention it deserved. NYT hasn`t printed one word about the pay for play emails.

Heh heh, fixing MSM is beyond my Pay Grade too. Too bad that [other Media outlets] are almost always so agenda-driven as to be unreliable at best. Eh, keeps the sheeple distracted and outraged and entertained.
