Trailblazer SS AWD or RWD?

I have an 08 AWD TBSS and love the damn thing. I have driven a RWD TBSS. I would def get an AWD truck they are only .2 on the QM slower. The added traction is def worth it. Get a set of OEM steel or alum rims and the truck is unstoppable in the snow. I drove from cleveland to NJ in an ice storm on rt80. Not once was I worried about getting stuck or not being able to stop.
Something to keep in mind that 09 is the last year of the TB let alon the TBSS. In 09 the only option backage avail is the 3ss package so leather climate and sunroof are included if you want cloth you need to find a 08 1ss. Supposedly the Loraine, Ohio and Missouri plant have been idled already. So picken will be uber slow
If you want the real deal on the best bang for you buck check out www. trailblazerss.com and tbssowners.com there are tons of info on there. PM me if you have any questions

I've seen his truck and it's pretty awesome :rockon
ok ..go with awd :bigups

Those are some great price's for them, I would go with the AWD for that northern driving in the winter.

Okay so here are the numbers forgetting the high end leather dvd nav one - lol resale - cars are a loss investment...unless you get a collectors :)

30827 - rwd
32126 - awd

cost diff is 1299
When you sell it here in the Midwest it will bring $1500.00 more if it is AWD
Living in Cleveland the choice is a no brainier.

When you floor it the power is divided between the two differentials instead of all the power going to one so how do you figure more strain with AWD.
Makes no difference on tranny it takes all the power in either vehicle.

Will your wife be driving .
What price do you put on family safety

Actually AWD does put more stress on the trans. With RWD when you floor it and spin the tires, the tire spin acts like a pressure relief valve and puts less strain on the clutch packs trying to hold the trans in gear. With AWD it is almost;) impossible to spin the tires and puts significantly more stress on the clutch packs and other components not to mention the additional weight

If you plan on burning rubber on dry roads your shopping for the wrong vehicle.
I have not been without at least one 4x4 most times more than one since 1963.
I currently own five.
Two wheel drive vehicles in this part of the country really suck big time

Its been awhile since I've been here, but let me just say....

That you can't go wrong with TBSS in any version. I picked up mine this past august, and it is just a great vehicle to drive. Roomy, great ride, very docile and good to get around in. It can also be ferocious when you want it to be....just a flick of the pedal will change its demeanor in a split second.

Unfortunately, with most domestic suv's, the resale value tanks; especially on suv's with poor gas mileage. The AWD will have gas mileage on the poor side...about 12/16. Aside from that, it is a great all around vehicle, and you can have an array of options that will either make it affordable or (in the case of new) send the price well into the upper 30's. The best bargains will be in the used or pre-owned market.

Good luck.

Oh I know it is last year - I have an 06 LT 4x4 now. Right now I get about 16 combined so mileage is not going to be much of a concern. Thanks for all the advice! as much as people think it is a dinosaur - I like the TB and getting a vette engine in it ?? Woot.

Get a better deal they are not going to be making trailblazers anymore..

they are dinosours

not a better deal to be had - my dad and bro are gm employees - that is employee pricing + 8000 rebate.

Not sure I can do better than 22K for an SUV that does 5.5 0-60:rockon

I took the plunge last night - 2008 TBSS AWD artic white with black leather - the one with every option LOL - luckily I got the dealer down to below gms pricing and got more for my trade so it worked out! I drove that thing for 5 mins and was sold.

Wow good luck with it sounds like you got a great deal on it. Wait til it snows for the first time. Find a open parking lot and turn off the stabilitrack. Let us know what you think and post videos:lol2:

good luck to them ..late last night President Bush said he will get some type of relief for the Big 3, but there will be some serious cuts throughout the industry ...the same report said 20 GM plants have or will be temporarily be closed :passout:
