My aunt saw what I did to my mothers Honda ( http://www.detailcity.org/forums/detailers-showcase/26935-detail-honda-cr-v.html ) and decided I should do her car. I agreed and off I was.
The car is a 98 (I think, maybe 2000?) Toyota Camry. The car is rarely if ever washed, she does her own wax, and just like the Honda, not driven much either. Realistically, the car wasn't taken care of much other than an occasional wash and maybe some wax of questionable origins. Wax buildup was everywhere and all over the trim, etc.
I washed and took a look at what I had to work with.
No shine. Sad.
Here's the Clay. Which one is new? :rofl
After Clay, wash to remove residue
I'll be honest. It wasn't as bad as I originally thought. I hit test area with SSR1 and it seemed to take most of it out. I really though it would need SSR2, but it really didn't. I went ahead and did a coat of SSR1 in on super-fantastic Craftsman orbital. I then hit the car with a coat of NXT 2.0 and called it a day. I also put some dressing on the trim/tires and RainX on the windows.
She was thrilled at how the car looked, but anything is better than how it was before.
