towels for glass

Meguiars Duo Fiber Glass Towel

That towel was total garbage for me. It linted like crazy and after one wash the border started to separate from the towel. I had 3 of them do this and they are no longer being used.

This is an effect way to clean glass its also a messy one.....the ink from the newspaper is what I hate.....If I could put a good quality MF towel and some Stoner Invisible glass cleaner in your hands....the only thing you would use newspaper for is reading

Yep i agree. The old Windex and newspaper is something i gave up almost 20 years ago. The Stoners is a great glass cleaner and it even removes bugs which windex will not. My new go to glass cleaner though is Meg's NXT

RIchard

I use Meguiar's Duo Fiber, or the cheap 2 for $3.68 bluw microtex MF's from Walmart. Both seem to work very well for me.

I agree with the PB's glass towel recommendation, it is a fine towel. It is so fine infact that I brought all but one of mine inside for mirror duty. I can also attest to the good job a WW towel does on glass. I have a few other glass specific towels as well. And though those options all work well, I normally reach for one of the surgical towels which I buy by the dozen. They are sized such that with the proper folding you can dedicate at least 1 fresh side to each piece of glass inside and outside.

I pick up the 2 pack from wal mart. (2 green ones) Havent had a problem with linting after the first 2 washes. Stoners IG is my go to cleaner.

Those of you that use the fine MF for glass, do find it gets saturated really quick and won't absorb as much compared to WW towels, possibly leaving streaks?

If your cloth is gettting saturated, try cleaning the glass with a different towel and use the mf for a final wipe/buff with only a mist of cleaner. Should help.
(Or you can just stock up on lots of MF's! :stick )

The fine MFs work well for polishing the glass if you like something with more absorbency the i would think a plush MF (PBs Mega plush) or one of AGs cobra MF will do the trick also, AG WW guzzler cleans glass up as well..

What kind of cleaner are you using and how much are you spraying on the window?

This is a good question. No need to overspray the glass cleaner you need a balance of cleaner with a good MF and you should be set to go.

I using PB blue glass cleaning MF towel with non-aerosol Stoners cleaner...by the time that I get to the last window the MF is getting some what wet but not enought that its soaked...my guess is that he is using to much cleaner

I have some of steve glass towels i'll have to givem a try. I use a polishing towel after i have cleaned up the glass after a wash .the glass becomes so clear it looks as if their is no glass at all,the same in the sun .

what cleaner are you using|?

Eagle One 20/20 or Stoners. I'm not having the problem with it though. I actually don't have any of the fine MF glass towels. I was just asking if that was a problem. I have always thought about them not absorbing, while buying MF towels, and always end up passing on them.

I use IG and a MF, then i use a suede polishing towel from CG's to buff out the glass.I dont always use the suede towel because it becomes time consuming.
I used my pro glass master for the 1st time on the interior glass . i wish i bought this item a loong time ago. The nylon pad works nice for the intial clean up then followed with the MF pad to buff out. When i used it last i through one of my MFs over the triangle pad and it worked as good.It came in handy when i cleaned the interior glass on my wifes Dodge Intrepid .The rear and front glass on those things are real deep..

I have been using a magic eraser for cleaning glass...spray a little on window and magic eraser..scrub with magic Eraser. really works good..gets into all the curves and scrubs the widow squeaky clean....then wipe off with a glass type micro like a Viking or PB's

the windows squeak clean...I use either NXT or Stoners glass cleaner

Al

I've used IG and microfiber...I've used all types of microfiber and all types of glass cleaner. IG works good AFTER the windows are cleaned...
But I'm still sticking with my newspaper and Windex original ("works before you wipe!").
I think the newsprint works good because the absorbancy is limited...it doesn't soak up the cleaner right away like MF can, so the cleaner works on the glass longer as you polish. Everytime I used MF, it lints up badly (with very tiny, you might even say micro, fibers!).

I remeber reading up on autopia were members were getting pretty good results from winnercircle's glass towels....

Depends on what you are looking to spend. I usually use the aerosol stoners cleaner along with either a regular mf waffle weave towel, a target vroom glass towel, or the fw glass microfiber towel. All work comparably but the regular ww is usually too big for cleaning glass and can get in the way.
