Toweling Technique

I've settled on #9, AIO, and 2 coats of EX and am extremely happy with the results.

I bought a half dozen MF towels and foam applicators and have a couple questions:

1. I use a dedicated foam pad for each product, but can the same toweling be used from start to finish. (or at least from AIO thru to the second coat of EX)?

2. Should the toweling be machine washed after each and every use? (they don't seem to get very dirty once I'm past #9)

3. Should foam pads and towels be dedicated to a specific product and polishing phase for their entire life?

P.S. The more I use EX the more I love it. It's very easy to use, leaves a wonderful sheen, and returns rubber and black moldings back to black. (no more masking the trim like with NuFinish).

1. Foam hand applicators are disposable. PC foam applicators and hand applicators should be cleaned after each use.

2. I would not take the chance of any contaminants staying on the towels. Wash 'em after each use.

3. If thoroughly cleaned you could mix their use. But PC pads are fairly inexpensive so buy enough of each style and then dedicate. Again hand applicators are disposable.

what Pecs said :xyxthumbs In addition, I'd use a LOT of different towels. Certainly at least a fresh one for every step, probably more than one. Better safe than sorry.

And FWIW, I use the same towels for wax, polish, windows, etc. The only ones I keep separate are the ones I use for leather/vinyl/rubber dressings.
