I am purchasing some more supplys from the autopia store and wanted to know what the differance and the uses were for these 2 towels

2 questions

What is the differance between these 2 towels

Sonus Der Wunder Buffing Towel

and

Sonus Der Wunder Polishing Towel

I guess I am just not getting what the descriptions of both says. They sound like they are the same towel?

Also

I think I bought a Concours Buffing Towel like 2 years ago but it is gold colored. I just want to know if it is the same one as the white ones they sell now or if I bought a diff towel back in the day.

Like I said the one I have is gold colored and feels really silky.

Also what is the use for this towel compared to the sonus ones?

I actually retired this towel about a year ago because i have a black car and it seemed like while taking the Klasse of it was leaving swirl marks??

Any info before I order more 32oz bottles of the amazing Klasse would be great. I want to get some new towels

Thanks

DAN

here's a great deal on some mf's, and not to mention you'll get a few ww drying towels as well... Der Wunder Towel Trio

I believe the polishing towel has a shorter finer nap and the buffing towel has a fluffier nap and is silky soft.

No experience w/ these towels buts thats what i would think. Its a der wunder towel so i seriously doubt any of them would scratch your finish though.

yea but what is the diff between buffing and polishing towels so i know when to use them?

i like to use the edgeless low nap towels (green) with window cleaners, and for removing polishes. the double sided mf towel (orange) is great for removing lsp's, qd'ing, and just about everything else... also, did i mention i have way to many mf towels! :o

I have Cobra MF towels and Pakshak MF towels as well. I seperate them in 4 catagories.

I use 3 Cobra MF Jr towels (purple), and 3 Paksak Ultra Plush MF (purple) I use for QD. Both brands are very soft and plush.

I use 2 Pakshak WW (light blue) I use stricktly for windows.

I use 2 Cobra all purpose towels (blue), and 2 Pakshak smooth MF (green) to buff off my polish or sealants.

I have 2 Cobra Deluxe 16x24 MF towels that are backups when for either buffing, or I use the short thread side to clean windows when my other Pakshak WW are dirty.

I also have 10 all purpose MF (yellow) I use STRICTLY for my clearbra (hood/bumper).

I would keep a yellow MF towel, an all purpose MF towel, and a WW towel in my car for emergency purposes :) with my Z-6 in a 2oz spray bottle, and my JW Quick Wash for my clearbra.

To me, it's best to color code your MF towels so you know each purpose and use. Also after each use, I would clean them right away with Micro Restore detergent by hand. Rinse them out, and I hang dry them. I have about 25 MF towels and I rotate them after each use.

Since I use 4 different MF towels. I've notice a huge decrease in swirls. I'm the guy that QD a car vs. a car wash, so using 4 different MF towels for 1 job reduces the chance of marring the finish oppose to just using 1 MF towel for the whole car.

I don't use my MF on my wheels. Simply I would take some towel rags from work and use a QD on my wheels. I'm not too worried about marring on my wheels since you can't notice it and my car is just covered with brake dust just driving a few miles, but I keep my wheels clean everytime I would QD my car.
