total steps to clean/polish/seal?

Ok, thanks to alot of great input from everyone, I have the polisher and accessories i need set. What is the recommneded order of steps after the swirl remover since it will leave the finish wax/sealant free? Is this correct?

1: swirl remover (going with poorboy's SSR1, maybe 2)
2: polish
3: wax and/or sealant?

If this is right, where would a glaze product come in, if even necessary with the above steps?

If I am missing a step, can combine steps with a particular product, or there if there is a better order, feel free to chime in! :)

Your process is the right one....after washing I would clay the car or do after washing with CLEAN soapy water....I prefer useing QD spray.

Then swirl remover SSR1 is good if you have light swirls go to the SSR 2 or 2.5 if they are real bad, then the SSR1

Polish next I like the PB P-w-C for this step

The glaze would be added at this point. I've been using FK1 pink hand glaze

Sealant or wax can be next


If you want to do both then allow 24 hours for cure on the sealant...then the next day lay down the paste wax

What is the benefit or purpose of applying a glaze at this step? I've always thought glaze was synonymous with sealant/wax. Perhaps glaze doesn't mean what I think it does.
 
There has been a lot of debate about glazes over the last few months... they tend to fill in any last swirls and give off different looks to the finish... do a search. It's not needed but thats where it would go.
 
He wouldn't want to use a glaze before a sealant, would he?
Seems like it would compromise the "bonding" of the sealant.
Before a wax should be OK.

I don't thin so if its a pure glaze.

But if it's going to be doing any filling, it has to be leaving some fillers on the paint.
I guess I really don't know, but I wouldn't use a glaze under a sealant, but I will be using a glaze under a carnauba wax in the near future.

hmm, maybe i'll just skip the glaze? :) I just picked up a Mothers clay bar kit last night, so I'm going to try and knock it out this weekend. starting with the wash, claybar, and then the pc stuff... it's probably going to take all day, but it's worth it... can't wait to see the liquid black finish on my stang when I'm done... haven't seen that since i drove off the dealer lot.

I have used glaze on cars that I have sealed and used paste wax on....I have not had any bonding issues that I am aware of....I use them to fill in what minor problems are still on the paint and to add bling to the paint...works for me
