Toronto Detailers?

Hello all,
I have a brand new Acura TSX (month old) that I want to keep looking REALLY good. It is black, so that is a challenge in itself. It has not been driven too much and has been sitting in my driveway for the past month while I am not driving it. I have been busy/and away,.......so I have washed it a bunch of times when I was home,.....but nothing too crazy. My parents took the car out one night and didnt put the E brake on all the way,.........rolled into the house nextdoor and scratched the bumper. I have to get that fixed before I get some work done on the car. Upon close inspection of the paint the other day, Im questioning whether the dealer actually waxed the car before I picked it up,.......but I can certainly see buff marks on the car. I think the car needs a minor polish etc before putting on sealant (im going to use four star UPP probably when I do stuff myself) because of the weather beating it has taken sitting in the driveway. I know, I know,...shame on me for neglecting it for a month.

Since I am new to all this detailing stuff,........I was thinking that it might be a good idea to take the car into a detailer and have them do a really good job on the car so the paint is really good etc. Then I can do the detailing/maintenance myself after the fact and maybe bring the car in to a pro here and there to make sure its up to snuff.

I posted the above stuff in another part of the forum, and ppl thought it was a good idea to take my car in if I dont mind paying for detailing. Any good detailers that are members at detailcity? Anyone know of good ones/go to a place in Toronto you woudl recommend?

Thanks for any responses/advice etc,.....sorry for the long post.
Steve

It's fantastic. Yesterday we were 24 celsius. On Sunday it was 22, and we took a drive about 1/2 from Charlottetown through red clay roads and trees overhanging, almost completely blocking out the light. The leaves are changing, the wheat is golden, sky is blue. Good time of year--until fall comes!

I like TO. Thinking of school there in 07. If you can wait till then, I'll bring my equipment.

Yep, I will probably be somewhere not too far from TO,.....but probably not living here still though. Would like to be in a smaller city/town,.....bit slower pace etc. When I have money I plan to travel to the East Coast and the West coast,.......take in all of our beautiful country.

It's a big country. My last trip Vancouver-Charlottetown was 75 driving hours, including many repairs and a dead truck in Quebec. Hadn't spoke French in 15 years but now I'm bilingual.

A member here, Picus, is from TO area I think. Perhaps she could give you advice.

I am from TO, I am a he, and I did give him advice above. :D Dans Detailing should definitely be able top help you out. In my experience they're good guys and they really know what they're doing.

The link in my sig is a little confusing, that's actually my wife. I pimp her site because she deserves it (and because I built it).

Oh, and speaking of weather - typical Toronto in the fall, 33c with the humidex on Tuesday, and 6c today. It's chilly out!

Sorry for the goof Mr. Picus  .
I saw your website once and in my poor memory thought you were more of a ms. My mistake.
Tell you what. 1/2 price wash and wax if you come my way. :stuart:

Haha ok, but I'll buy the beer. :)

They have those bottled Guinness with that widget thing, pretty much the same deal as the can now. Of course the only way to have a Guinness is straight from the tap. :)

I prefer it in a glass. The head doesn't settle well when you are sucking from a tap.

haha, thanks for the advice.

It is a big country,..........75hrs driving,...YIKES.

I might have to check out that Dans place.

Guiness,.........dont really like it that much. I like lighter, lighter beers,...as opposed to darker, heavy ones. If I get a chance to come to PEI soon, I will have to get you to work on my car PEI detail.

What car(s) do you have Picus? West or East end Toronto,........or downtown.

Ah, a blonde man. I like a good heifeweisen on occasion, though I do admit to prefering darker beers.

My cars are an '03 G35 sedan and my wife drives a 330i. (you can see my car here http://autopia.org/forum/showthread.php?t=61821 ) We're pretty much right downtown - Queen W and Claremont. How about you?

Nice cars you have there,..and nice shine. Im in the west end of the city near etobicoke. Im a bit south of bloor between Runnymede and Jane Basically. That link is pretty crazy, your car looked awesome at the end. I need to get you to teach me how to do all that detailing stuff to my car,...which is BLACK also, so I can have an awesome shine etc. I have my four star (among other stuff) all on order,.......geez it's costing me a lot. Im new to this stuff,...........Im scared to put anything on the car like polishes and paint cleaners etc,....LOL. Sorry, I forgot this thread was going btw. My dad is/was thinking about getting an 04 G35,.........fingers crossed, but he is leaning towards just holding onto this 1999 I30T,....darn, cause I could steal it here and there after he got it.
