Topping BFWD?

I applied two layers of BFWD and followed the directions that states 8 hours between layers of BFWD and/or Midnight Sun.

Who changed the plan to 12 hours?

To be honest, you could probably apply another product over BFWD an hour or two after application. Since we injected BFWD with Polycharger (a catalyst that dramatically decreases the curing time) it is ready to go almost instantly. The problem is that the directions/instructions have to be written so that everybody gets consistent results.

Applying BFWD in extreme humidity, extreme cool tempatures, or massive overapplication (putting it on super thick) will all contribute to longer than normal cure times. Doing all three together (globbing it on a cold, humid day) could require 8-12 hours before it is fully cured.

Topping BFWD

Just another question on this topic. If you have BFWD or FMJ can either of these be topped with AG HD wax as well as the BFmidnight sun and can they be maintained weekly with HGAS?

Im wondering what the spray sealant will do to the midnight sun as well, as I will be applying it quite frequently. I would be disappointed if it cleaned the wax right off.

Yes you can top BFWD with AG HD, but we cannot guarantee how well it will work. AG HD is a pure wax (to my knowledge) so it doesn't have cleaners or abrasives that would damage the Wet Diamond below. That said we just don't know how well it will 'stick'. Midnight Sun can be maintained with HGAS, no problem, as it is formula is similar solvent wise to BF Deep Gloss. I also don't see you having any problem using HGAS over AG HD, as it is a very mild in terms of chemical cleaning. I have never used this combination but we have never had any complaints regarding any Eimann Fabrik or Blackfire sprays negatively impacting durability.

Midnight Sun uses polymers to help it bond into Wet Diamond. You should have zero problems.

I top my BFWD with Danase Wet Glaze. Doesn't add any protection (probably), but does add even more POP!

I am planning on doing the whole Blackfire thing and will probably wait to see how I like the look before or if I top with a wax or just use the spray sealant. If I do top with wax I would like to use a spray wax such as Optimum spray wax. Would the Optimum remove any or the Blackfire? I understand the Optimum spray wax also has a sealant in it?

If I were you I would top it either with Midnight Sun, or just the spray sealant. I have not had good luck mixing products from different vendors. Sometimes it works, but there is a pretty good chance they wont work well together.
