Chicks Dig Comb Overs
This winter, during the two ot three weeks that it's too cold to drive the convertible in the Atlanta area, should I put the top up or leave it down? :dunno

I'm concerned about the plastic window. I realize that I shouldn't put it up if it gets cold on me while the top is down. The sudden addition of tension when it's cold can break teh plastic, so I understand anyway. :brick

So what do you think? better stretched flat with the top up? Or better curled up in a ball with the top down? :huh

had a '63 Corvette convertible for 17 years & always stored it with the top up in it's "natural position".

:drool why'd you get rid of the Vette?

Of course for me Natural Position on the convertible is top down ... :D

This is a no brainer YOU always store the convertible UP.If you left the convertible down you get streches bends and bugs and lines signed a convertible owner for 20 years

I always put the top up when I park the car. The only exception would be if I was in direct line of sight of the vehicle, and I was planning to drive off again within a few minutes. Otherwise, the top goes up. This prevents creases from forming in the fabric and keeps dust/debris out of the cabin as well.

got married & had a baby. Corvette has 2 seats & no place for baby so it goes on the block and we buy a house.

We got divorced & sold the house, after-sale proceeds amount to nothing so I pretty much got screwed out of my car.

The '63 was a body-off restoration with a 327/250hp & Powerglide and it took many 2nd's at any show I entered. Got 2nd's 'cause it's tough to beat the cars that are trailered in. These guys park at a gas station 2 blocks away & they drive to the show to enter their "drivers".

Still, I miss the car and the 80* top-down midnight drives, driving until dawn just because you can, and the brisk top-down drives with the heater going full-tilt in the fall. Going for a cruise with a dozen other pre-68 Corvettes and causing a stir wherever we went.

Mostly, I miss the people I'd meet crusing with Mustangs, streetrods, tri-5 chevies, and the Mopar gang 'cause everyone knew how much work went into one of these cars & we all had a great time together.
