Top of the Line "Trade Secret" Carnauba Wax

One of the best that I have used. Very easy on/off, think S100. Very wet look, nice product. IMO, the look improves with additional layers.

Hopefully Anthony Orosco will see this and comment. He seems to use it on a lot of his details. To me, that is a good sign!

Trade Secret is a wonderful topper to use, especially on dark blacks and reds or other darker paints.

A little goes a long way so while a container may run around $30 I can do at least 25 to 30 cars with one tub. It does not have the longevity of a polymer but I get at least 6 weeks worth of protection on my weekly washes when topped with TS.

This may be extended, or shortened, depending on ones washing and driving habits. Using a carnuaba based QD helps extend protection. I have never had TS stain trim or cake up in edges or emblems.

I prefer P21S on light colored cars and light metallics but TS on dark colors, including dark metallics.

I am finishing a detail on a Coral Red Porsche tomorrow (I hope) and I am not yet decided on which topper I'll use to finish it off with, TS or P21S. I am sure I'll be using NXT or maybe even UPP before a final topper.

Well I hope that helps,

Anthony

Thanks for the review Anthony.

Which QD do you like to use with TS?

Very welcome :D

I have been using either Quickshine or my main stay QD is Clear Pearl.

For years I have been using a wax based QD from a company based here in San Antonio called "Aero-cosmetics" It works great for cars where the dirt may be a bit heavier and the CP or QS may not emulsify the dirt enough.

I need to do a in-depth side by side of all the QD's I use and then post the results.

Yep, my truck is red also.

I feel a new combo formulating in the back of my brain. Something to do with NXT and TS.

I just purchased NXT ... now I guess I got to get TS next.

Anyone know of any online retailers that are set up to accept my pay check as a direct deposit?;)

Trade Secret is a great wax and I actually prefered it over the S100 wax that I gave away. I only used it on my black Camry. I found it very easy to use and it gave me the right look I wanted for my paint.....very wet look. After buying and using Poorboy's EX, I still used TS as a topper. I agree that you'll get about 6 weeks of beading from it except in the summer where I found that it would probably be about half that. (my car is outside 24/7) I use Quickshine and Final Detail as QD. The price isn't that bad so if you're curious about it, I would say try it out.

Also if it means anything, it is the best smelling wax I've ever had. Kind of a banana-coconut smell.

Take care..... V :wavey

Anthony, It sounds like its similar to souveran. Have you compared the two?

Yes I have compared the two and perhaps the only thing I can say that is somewhat different between the two is that TS seems to darken colors just a bit more, that and of course a big price difference.

Erik,

The application process is pretty much the same. I use a yellow foam applicator, scrap the top layer of TS and then remove excess by scraping the pad along the containers edge. It looks as if nothing is on the sponge and I then apply a thin coat to a small area, wait about 40 seconds and buff off with a suede MF towel.

I apply it in back and forth motions and some semi-circles depending on the area being waxed.

Where do you buy Trade Secret at? I've never heard of it. When I hear someone talk about awesome wax, I usually see them mention P21S, even for dark colored cars. I didn't realize this TS stuff might look better for my black car... Hmm may have to rethink my idea of buying a tub of P21S...

Wow Rob...digging out an old thread!

TS - very similar to Souveran in just about every aspect except for price. But being so similar isn't always good, as it suffers from weak durability too...hence, it's in my dog house.
