Top of the Line Detail

Nick,

Really nice work....very nice! Irene told me about you the other day, said you are very nice and thanked me for your business so I in return wish to thank you for your kind words:)

Keep up the good work, I have about 4 unfinished details going right now and I am really anxious to get them done so I can post pictures. We have rain right now so it is depressing:(

Adios,
Anthony

I love trade secret - have you ever used their black line ? the poly and the wax? I'm tempted as well as the grape stuff ;)

Thanks again guys!!

Ringo--

That's a good point there, since I'm still carrying Megs Wire/Chrome Acid.....Might go to that route as well; it'll be easier.

jlm--

Trade Secret on Black, or for that matter, any dark colored car is the wettest paste I have used!! Depending on the size, I will apply a 1/4 of the hood or a quarter panel at a time, then buff off, where as with P21S/S100, I had to do 3x3 squares.

Anthony--

Well deserved my man.....and you think your anxious to see the results.....so is the rest of DC!!

Wife--

Just PM'ed you and I'll probably start another thread on that. I'm using the 6" weight and there is more vibration that before, but Aaron talked to me on Saturday, and we might have a solution.

Groebuck--

I just found the Black paste wax last week, as it is also new, it is on my list for the next order!!

Nice Review.

About three weeks ago I recieved my first order of a handfull of Hi-Temp products. I've been playing with their Grape Tire Dressing that another detailer in my area recommended to me. I wouldn't call this a "gel" type tire dressing. It's not thick at all and is basically a solvent based dressing. Compared to other solvent based dressings that have used in the past though, this dressing is top-notch. Doesn't seem to fling off, leave the surface glazed like a doughnut, and I haven't noticed any advanced blooming of the tires from this product.

I usually apply tire/dressing as part of my finishing touches but now have to apply this grape dressing right away as it does take some time to dry. My first few times applying it as it dries it dries streaky and I was somewhat worried. Give it time though and it evens out nicely. Nick, when during your detail process do you apply the tire dressing?

It holds up pretty well in rain and recently we've been getting a LOT of rain down here. I don't like writting reviews after only having used them once or twice though. I'm gonna give this product most of this gallon before I post up what I really feel this product is capable of. Maybe it will replace the Stoner product that I've been using for a little over a year now.

Great job Nick! Your post is very well appreciated... and the Jag looks great. I appreciate learning about new products. I wish to encourage all members to share their findings. It is impossible for any one person to keep up with all the great products out there. Again, Nick great job!

Thanks guys, and Intel, good to see you on another board. As you can see, I've come along well since the last time I've talked to you. I typically do tires last, but in this case, the client made me lunch (that was pretty sweet) and I figured I would put it on before washing up a bit. I did them after taking off Light cut, so that is why you can still see some minor swirls to the above right of the fender. Paint Perfection Glaze took care of the rest, then topped with TS.

It depends on what you consider a "gel". This is gel-type in my book; it's not really milky like Poorboy's Bold n' Bright, but not as thick as Meg's Endurance or Black Magic Tire Wet. I apply all my tire protectants with the gray Adam's foam applicator and just make sure it is on there even. I've never noticed it streaking. I typically do not go back and touch the tire, so weather it dries quickly or not really isn't and issue for me at least :dunno I've had it for a few months now, and probably have done 5-6 cars with it with success.

Great job Nick!!! Nothing like Paint Perfection Glaze and Grape Tire Dressing in the morning! Almost as good as coffee. I do a great deal of 1 steps, and PPG rocks! I just switched over to Long Term Paint Sealant and Bahama Mama as well. The carnauba is great. Haven't used the sealant yet. Let you know how I get along with it. Thanks for the tire tip. I'll have to place another order.

I'll just go back to my pick-up trucks and soccer mom SUV's.

Dave

Nick,

yeah, I'm visiting more forums that usual right now... This rain is killing me. It rain THREE! times today...

I've seen the streaking on the tires I've used it on but it goes away after while (like 15 or so mins). I use foam tire swipes that I believe I order from TOL. They're cheap and work well. I can check. I've used the Adam's foam applicators and they work pretty well.

I'm going to keep going through this gallon and see how I like it. I normally like Stoner's Trim Shine for tires. Just got a 5 gallon pail of it in a couple days ago. I like the matte finish it gives and it dries all the way.

Interesting Intel, I bought a case of the aresole Trim Shine. Sure is a mess on thin trim but does well on tires.

LOL, that's why I don't get aerosol cans anymore. The 5 gallon bucket is also cheaper than buying all those cans. It's like $55 shipped.

From Stoner's direct there is free shipping! :bigups

And order $500 in stuff and you get a T-shirt, 24 cans of Invisible Glass, and this big sampler of all their aerosol cans... lol...

That sampler wasn't a bad deal. On your first order, they throw that in, otherwise it's $50. I paid like $35 for the case. They have pretty good prices.

Now I remember why I stopped visiting this site. Every time I come by I leave wanting to buy more stuff!!

Nick, do you do your details in the shade, or in the sun?

Intel,

The Stoners trim shine in the 5 gallon bucket doesn't leave a shine on the tires? I wish it did have a little shine because I would buy it. I don't care for the matte look on tires.
