Cool. That must've been *very* gratifying :xyxthumbs

Oh, and props for doing a good rotary job on a Volvo 850. Lots of panel creases and sharp edges you have to watch out for.

It sure would be helpful to those of us that have been a little afraid of starting with a rotary if one of you rotary experts would post a tutorial thread. I’d like to see things like - when to use (instead of a PC), techniques, cautions, pad choice, product choice, etc.

Thanks,

Since this thread is about rotaries, I think I will interject. I went to my friends body shop today to see what it would cost me for a bc/cc paint job. Anyways, while I was waiting he says to me let me show you what I can do to your car in less then a minute.

He grabs a bottle of finessit III and his air powered rotary and hits the left fender. My mouth practically dropped to the floor. I couldnt believe in less then a minute he took off all the oxidation, marring, and cobwebs on the entire left fender.

He told me If I pick up an electric rotary, he would do my car this weekend with all the meguiars products I ordered. So he mentions hell met me at chicago frieght after work. I thought to my self chicago frieght, isnt that where they had that really cheap rotary for like $25. So I met him there, they matched the price from $50 to $25 and it looks like I have my Saturday morning planned.

I just got my rotary (HarborFreight - Chicago Electric is the brand :) ) - can't wait to try it out this weekend - on the roomate's truch first!! :)

My Makita came in last week. I've only done my hood with it though. It's easier than I thought and the hood looks great. Eventually I'll find time to do the whole car.

I just bought several tufted LC pads and am trying out some new pads from another company. I just don't know who makes them.
