I mean, I just. have. too. much. stuff.

One day, I want to get 64oz of #21 and use it on my car. The next day, I'm thinking that I have to use up...

that bottle of A12 Cleaner Wax, the can of A12 Cleaner Wax, the bottle of #6 Cleaner Wax, the bottle of new Gold Class, the 2 bottles of NXT, the 2 bottles of #20 and the 2 bottles of #26, the 2 cans of #26, the can (and bottle) of the old Gold Class, the 2 bottles of MPPP, the can of #16, the 2 bottles of ColorX, the bottle of A22 Carnauba, the 2 bottles of NXT and the can of NXT...

the 32oz of AIO, the 32 oz of SG, the Stuf, the PUPP, the Mother's Cal Gold Natural, the Mother's Cleaner Wax, the EX, the EX-P, the Natty's Wax, the Moose Wax, the Carnauba Moose, the TW Platinum, the Zymol Carbon, and whatever else that I can't remember...

before I buy another doggone jar or bottle of ANYTHING.

So, I now have this new 100% scratch and swirl free car that is 3 weeks old. I put a quick coat of NXT on it the first weekend I had it. Now, I can

1) use it to try a little of this, a little of that, using whatever strikes me,

or

2) It's new. Use up all that cleaner wax. It's all you really need on a new finish anyhow.

LOL, not to mention the Z you just sent me; I got back from vacation Tuesday, and was going to Z tomorrow, but it's supposed to snow!

Heheh, I think the same thing a lot... I have a lot of things still around that are nice but I just don't know when I'll use them up. On the Aurora, all I pretty much care about using now is Souveran. I might try some Blackfire again underneath some Souveran, though. I think on the other cars I'll just use whichever of the decent-durability products I feel like, Liquid Souveran, MPPP, Klasse, Blitz, #16, Autoglym...

I do think the bug has died, though. All the various things I've bought and tried, and really none of them are all that different than any other. I've got two cans of Souveran, 2 cans of #16, a can of Blitz, and tons of bottles of other stuff. As long as I have products that make me happy, like Souveran and #16, what's the point in buying the "next new thing"...

The same is true of vinyl/rubber stuff. I kept wanting to try new ones, but really, I like 303 on the dash, #40 (or vinylex) for weatherstripping, #38 on plastic trim, and anything looks good on tires... I will give Pinnacle another spin on the interior in place of 303, purely because of the smell.

But I've really no more desire to try new things. I imagine that bug could get resurrected, but I sort of hope not... I've found stuff that I like, and now I just need to go and use it often. :)

I would say....

give away a lot of that stuff. Maybe just save like 4 oz samples of some of it, and then give the rest of the bottle away. Maybe put it all together as a package or two and sell it for really cheap on "abay". I dont know about you, but even though #26 is a nice wax, I dont know if I am ever going to be able to get around to using it up.

"Here's my address, I have hardly any stuff!" :hide:

Heehee...just enjoy having that "stock". The way I see it...even if you don't do this for a living it is still a hobby...like collecting coins or stamps and whatnot. You'll have a product for whatever mood strikes you that day.

LOL, Mosca, this type of thread is something I wouldn't have associated with you. Not that I couldn't imagine you having a nice collection/selection of car care products, but that you would ever consider that you had overdone it.

Anyway, by ways of response, I will answer your question with an adaptation of something of a famous (or is it infamous) quote (and I'm having one of those moments and cannot name the originator - but I'm sure someone can). You can never be too rich or too thin....or have too many washes/polishes/waxes/rubber-vinyl-leather treatments.

Close you eyes, pick one or two and surprise yourself. Like buying stocks, you made the initial purchase for a reason, unless the "stock" has proven disappointing no sense unloading it now.

:up

I wish i had too much stuff... If you ever want to unload some of it, I'll be happy to take it off your hands. I can see your point, you found what you like and you are pretty much sticking with it, all the other stuff is just sitting around. So, heck with it, put it in some 4-6 oz bottles and sell em for like a dollar or 2 a piece. Fund your next detailing purchase :D
