I'm thinking of purchasing some TOL products and wondered if this was the correct order of applying the products I'm looing at.

Hi-Temp LC
Paint Perfection Glaxe
AIO
Trade Secret

I have a black car and hoping this will restore this process will restore the shine and depth back to it.

Thanks for you help.

Mas Preguntas? How will this combination look on lighter colored cars, or should I go with something else?

Thanks for everyone's help.

I love AIO and Trade Secret!

For lighter colors, though, you could try UPP instead of the TS. Or try UPP first, and if you want more depth, add TS on top of the UPP!

AIO and PPG are both great products. PPG has abrasives in it, so if you have swirls your trying to "remove" than that is a good choice. AIO is a chemical cleaner and relies on the pad you use to remove the defects, as well as it contains a lot of fillers to "hide" the remaining 10% of swirls.

In my use, AIO has a greater shine vs. PPG.

That's the first time I have heard that AIO has fillers.

I thought AIO was a perfect base for polymers like Zaino, UPP, SG etc. I wouldn't think this would be the case if it had fillers.

:dunno

I agree...skip the PPG. Overkill...

Paint Perfection Glaze is 50% Light Cut to start. So, you are just removing more that the Light Cut should have already done. No sense to take more off than needed. Furthermore, HT-69 PPG is a silicone/ polymer product that requires 36 hours to cure.

As mentioned, AIO will do the job and give you more protection than PPG with more shine allowing you to top with LSP. AIO should also remove the PPG if you were to go with your original plan.

If shine needs to be restored as you say, your focus should be on the compounding / polishing process. The RX required depends on the condition of your paint. Communicate your needs and you will get the correct process.

Good Luck!

So will Light Cut help restore shine and depth. I've got a lot of swirl marks, too. Maybe I should use the Medium Cut, then Light Cut, AIO, and finally TS. I guess I'm pretty much trying to restore my truck back to as new as possible. Thanks for all the help.

Same here I have always relied on AIO to remove any fillers left by any product. IMO AIO has no fillers and what you see is what you get.

Always start with the least aggressive compound first. Do a small area and inspect to see if it needs more. If so, step up the ladder to a more abrasive product like Medium Cut. If badly swirled, you probably need the HT-300 Medium Cut.

High Temp compounds are designed to work best with heat provided by a rotary. If applying by hand, the results will not be quite as good as by machine. How many swirls can you live with? Don't compromise your paint trying to get rid of every last imperfection. It will be a matter of time before they start gradually reappering which will prompt you to attack them again.

Have you considered claying the truck before compounding? Sounds like a must if you are trying to restore to as new as possible. Do so after removal of noticable contaminants like tar, bugs, etc. TOL Clay is a keeper.

Have fun!

So, the process has been confirmed, now down to the application. I have a PC but do not have any pads except the one that came with my purchase. I plan on buying some of the LC Polishing Pads. Will these suffice?

.

I agree with ebp and rob.....I was under the impression that AIO contained no fillers, that is one of the reasons it works so well under sealants.
