Today's Work - v. Droptop Cobra Stang & Product Collection

Due to this piss-poor weather, I had to reschedule all of my work thus far this week. However, I worked around the drizzle/rain to get my Dad's 2001 Cobra Mustang done.

For the interior, I did my Oxy mix for the carpets, Woolite mixture to clean everything else. 303 on plastic/vinyl/rubber and Lexol conditioner on the leather.

The car was last detailed about 8 months ago with just a polish and S100 and was beading amazingly. It only has 40,000 miles on it and is a garage queen, seeing no precipitation of any form. However, when he drives it, he takes it to work a lot of the time which is 90 miles round-trip, all highway. Therefore the front bumper and edge of the hood are pretty beat up and pitted. The car had a bunch of scratches down the side from neglect in the crammed garage as well as dragging things on/off the rear bumper. My final steps were:

-Mother's Gold Wash
-#83 DACP via Rotary @ 1500 rpm with LC Cutting Pad on front bumper, and spot scratches
-#80 Speed Glaze via Rotary @ 1500 rpm with LC Polishing Pad on entire car
-Wolfgang Pre Cleaner by hand
-Wolfgang Sealant by hand

-TOL's Wheel Wash, then Auto Magic Seal-It (new product try out) on rims
-Poorboy's Bold 'N Bright on Tires
-AA in wheel wells
-303 on all exterior plastic and top

Nice job!!! That's a sweet car!!!

What exactly does your OxyClean mix consist of that you use to clean the carpet?

groebuck: :rofl . Picking out the least relevant point, but yes it is...Quick story. My girlfriend and I are home from college...We didn't want to be apart over the summer so she worked here and I was happy. Having us sleep in a single bed wasn't really happening...Just uncomfortable, so due to limited space, we got bunk beds and now its camp :D

Bruha: Thanks. 2 scoops:2 gallons of water...scrub it in, let sit for 5-10 mins, then extract out with a shop vac (wet).

Sean, how do you like the meguiar's polishes (Speed Glaz, SFP and DACP)? How do they compare to PB's as far as ease of use and results are concerned? I always wanted to try them but I'm so happy with PB's stuff that I can't imagine them being better. Enlighten me!!!

Sopranos: PB's are cake to use...I was very happy with them. Speed Glaze is the new crazy. It cuts like 2.5 at first then breaks down to a very light polish leaving you most of the time with 1 step polishing, then sealing.

SFP and DACP are pretty easy too but if they sling (always do with the rotary), they tend to be a biotch to get off. I use DACP on the bad stuff (will get 2.5 and 3 when it runs out) and SFP to remove any hologramming I get, if any.
