Im bushed!



Spent nine hours working with a friend on his Carrera Twin Turbo. We started with a complete buffing of his abused finish with SMR for Dark Paint and FI II as necessary. I worked and worked many areas. The car was transformed! :eek: We finished by applying three coats of Zaino Z5. I also polished his Invincishield clear bra. Huge improvement that made!:up



Now it looks like the near $100,000 car it is!

Do you find the wale tail to be the most difficult and tedious part of the car to detail? I could sense that the grills would require some patience.
 
Beautiful car. What color is that paint? Looks like a BMW color called "Techno Violet"...



I love the powdercoated wheels, too. Awesome.

Did you do a Dawn wash between the SMR and the first coat of Z5?



Is there a reason for not putting Z2 over the Z5?



There must be some reason why my Explorer doesn't look as good as your Carrera...

We did Klasse the wheels for protection. It's heat resistant.



We will continue with Z2 from now on. I did Z5 to help with any imperfections I couldn't fix or missed. I'll take any help I can get!;)



No, I didn't Dawn wash between SMR and Z. I did a really good wash with Z shampoo and did a lot of detailing to remove over-splatter and residue left from buffing.



I polished the clear bra with SMR for light colors and waxed it with Zaino. It looks SO much better than it did. It took out all the scratches that were there from the installation.



I really should have taken "before" pics. The car actually changed colors. It had so many fine linear scratches that made up a haze that it actually lightened the color. It got darker and deeper in hue once it was buffed out. The owner said. "My Gosh, I actually would have paid more for this car had it looked this way when I bought it!". That's saying a lot considering what this car is worth!



Today I helped a friend install a clear bra on his yellow Turbo Beetle. Cool car. Dang...forgot to take pics!

Ok. That settles it. We gotta have a date, Brad. (Don't tell the Lovely Wife! ;) ) --- after the two Jags get out of the shops.



Didn't realize you used Zaino. Lots of Autopians say it's only good for light-colored cars. You care to add comments?

It's a date! About Zaino... Love it on the Arena Red Porsche I just did. Love it on my Verona Red BMW. (below) I think it looks great on Black. And Lapis Blue Porsches. Might even look pretty snappy on a Red Jag I've heard rumors of.
