5 hours is pretty good for doing everything by hand. It would have taken me much longer. Did you use any type of abrasive swirl remover products prior to the Zaino steps?RMautoDetail said:Thats right Marj. I dont use a PC so it does take me a longer time to do the kind of work that i do. This car took me just over 5 hours to complete and it came out flawless.

Deanski said:Nice work.. By Hand? I think Scottwax may have a condender. Hard to imagine that finish being restored by hand.
Not to rain on your parade but...
Isn't that a bottle of Meguiar's NXT in the background? The pad laying on the ground also doesn't help much.![]()
Other than that, not bad at all.
Have a safe & happy 4th of July all!!

Never tried the "Booster Wax" on wheels. I use a product from Autowax (Auto Magic) which is a high temp sealant, but can't think of the name of this stuff for the life of me... damn it. Works well for wheels. I've also used it for suspension parts on one F1 360 and one Viper. Makes all trailing arms/lower control arms look nice and new along with all the bolts etc.. They don't see rain and each one looks as new as can be.
Dude, you need a bigger canopy! Nothing worse than chasing the sun vs finish build-up of heat.
You must have some arms after that mess! Removing defects like that by hand is a bit much, that's why there are rotary polishers for that. Cuts time in half and end up with a high reflective finish in the right hands. I'd never attempt that finish by hand, it's a bit beyond hand work.
One of my customers (black Z06 Vette) who has Zaino on it for sometime now, we added to his effect a coat of Souveran paste on top of the Zaino and he was just floored on how deep and wet it looked. I pointed out that even though he loves the Zaino look, the wax will be more of a sacrifical layer, so if he chooses to add another Zaino coat, no big deal. He ended up ordering the Souveran for himself.
Enjoy the weekend!

Scott P said:I would think that NXT Booster Wax wouldn't be durable at all for wheels. If anything, I think it would be a temporary shine at best. How long does it last?

I sometimes use Poorboy's QD+ on my wheels for a quick touchup. It's not very durable if used as a stand alone product, but it works very well as a topper/refresher for sealants.RMautoDetail said:You are right that the shine is temporary, but it does give a nice shine. I actually didnt even use it on this CL500, i guess i just took it out of my bin to get something else. I got the bottle for free from a friend of myn last week and he told me to try it on wheels. I tried it and i thought it was great.

What product is that by the door of the car in the pic w/ the green canopy?
How many coats of zaino did you need to fill in all those swirls?
Scott P said:It's too bad you couldn't get an "after" direct shot like the one where you showed the swirls. I was never able to get Zaino to remove or even hide swirls or spider-webbing like that.
