First off, thie SUV is simply amazing in person.

The owner is Nick W, a pioneer of the import scene. He had the very first imported Skyline into the US. While I was working on this car, he told me 2 very cool things:

1) You're GONNA wash my ferarri (355 Berlinetta in a silver/blue color) - pardon my spelling!

2) You're gonna make ALOT of money off me!

His other cars that he has include a brand new VW GTi R32, a 1969 all original Jaguar (sorry, I forget what model) and a S13 Nissan 240XS converted to a Silvia. (the jag and nissan are currently at the shop, I can snap some pics next time I go there)

For a rich young dude, he is very personalble and down to earth. . .an awesome thing!

OK, on to the FX45. . .car has just over 10K on it and he said it hadn't been washed since he owned it. It was pretty dirty (as the pics will show.) The paint was in surprisingly great shape. No major scratches. . .no swirls. . .no major blemishes in the paint. I didn't have time to pick up some clay, so I didn't get a chance to propperly prep it.

here's what I did to it:

Wash with Gold Class shampoo using 2 bucket method.

DACP with a Meguiars maroon pad on the front bumper (some dried in dead bugs that the wash didn't remove) and on 2 small scratches that I noticed.

NXT with a grey finishing pad on paint, windows and wheels

Meguiars endurance tire gel on tires

Floormats were cleaned with a 1:30 mixture of TOL's interior cleaner

Motor was wiped down with a damp terry cloth and dressed with 303

Interior glass was cleaned with Stoners using newspaper

Interior trim was wiped down with a damp MF and buffed dry with a dry MF. No 303 applied as it was practially new and looked spectaular, just a bit dusty.

Exhaust tips were cleaned with Target brand glass cleaner, #0000 steel wool and buffed dry with a MF

Wheel wells were scrubebd with a 1:10 mixture of Simply Green/H2O, then sprayed down with water from a spray bottle the wiped clean with a terry cloth

Enough talk, on to the pics ( a few are blurry, sorry!)

in this picture, you can see the owner of the shop in the wheelchair and the car's owner standing. . .they were about 10ft away from me and the camera. . .depth from NXT!

Best part of the day, was getting a $55 tip from the guy, and him saying that it DIDN"T even look this good when he bought it. . .priceless!

Those really are a great looking SUV. More of a sports car that's also an SUV! You did some great work on the FX45, I love that color/vehicle combo. You're going to be a very busy man with his fleet plus the word of mouth recommendations.

yup, this was the 20th car I worked on at the shop in less than 10 days! (on 3 actualy days though!)

I am going to do the shop owners excussion on the 12th. . .it's big, black and extremely filthy!

David

You'd think a car guy wouldn't let any of his vehicles get that dirty.

Looks like NXT really put a nice wet shine on it. Good work! :up

thanks for the kind words!

That SE-R is in the process of getting turboed. It's getting a huge turbo put on it, though the shop is trying to talk him into a smaller turbo, as with such high compression, a huge turbo is way overkill on it. . .

Love it! Great flippin work! I'm finally glad to see one detailed in the color combo I want :D. It makes my decision in the future that much easier.

yah, this car is definately a wet dream! I always liked it in the pueter/silver color. . but this brown is fantastic in person, when clean.

Like in this picture, the top of the car looks almost tan and the door looks more burgandy than brown. . .

I thought you'd like this detail, after your comments in my other thread.

Aren't they? My Mom has an FX35, its an amazing vehicle. Why anyone would buy something like a Lexus RX when they can buy something like that I'll never know...unless you have kids...but still. You gotta go to the dealer and drive one, hard to believe it has AWD and you can haul a christmas tree on the top when you drive it. Nissan/Infiniti outdid themselves on that thing.

Its actually funny, they fight over who gets to drive it. My dad has an 04 LS430 and my mom works from home so he thinks that he can just choose to drive whatever he wants lol. We meet them for dinner about once a week and its always interesting to see what they drive, usually the FX. Had dinner with them yesterday and he's been driving the FX all week and most of last week "You know, because it might snow" LOL

You did a great job, is that Beryllium or the gold color?
