To Top or not to Top--that this the question

I just finished a winter Klasse detail. Last weekend I clayed, AIO, and then 3 layers of SG with 1 day in between (4 day weekends are nice for this!). Today I just did a fourth SG layer (all using Bill's great WOWO method). The car looks very nice (2004 Titanium Grey V70R) but I wouldn't mind a little extra pop if the S100 on top will do this (I think pop is especially hard to get on this color). My plan was to put on a layer of S100 tomorrow and then reapply more of the S100 every 4-6 weeks for the winter to keep the top coat intact.



But with Bill's WOWO method for applying SG--it would be just as easy to keep putting on a layer of SG instead of the S100 every month or so. My question is the extra layer of carnuba likely to make a substantial improvement in depth or "pop" on this car? Also I have used Zaino a bit in the past and I believe in this case it is thought the carnuba reduces the durability of the Z2 sealant underneath. Any suggestion that this might occur with Klasse SG as well?



My guess is that I'll probably end up puting on a layer of S100 topper just to see if it makes much of a difference in the look...if not I'll probably just use SG as my LSP in the future.



I am curious about any suggestions on topping (or not) the Klasse twins,

i dont think you'll notice any pop with more than 4 coats of klasse. u should try topping with 3 coats of p21s, with the appropriate cure time... i would love to see your v70r.. after seeing one @ a car show i fell in love with them. is this the same model?:

TOP, P21s or s100 is the perfect choice. Carnuba gives more protection but for a much less length of time. S100 every week or two is what i'd do.
 
I dunno, I used to top my KSG with #16 (similar look/improvement). I finally decided the slight gain in looks wasn't worth the inability to add more KSG, which I've found provides better protection than any carnauba (especially with regard to bird bombs and light marring). With six layers of KSG and careful, frequent washing, I can go over a year without having to polish a daily driver. The last two coats didn't add anything looks-wise, but did add to the build-film of SG. Lasted a lot longer than when I used four coats, especially in the areas that get spot-clayed with every wash.



Even after quite a while, you can just (*very gently*) clay the vehicle and add more KSG.



Unless your paint *really* responds to a topper (and I don't think your color would), I'd stick with the KSG.
 
I tend to agree with accumulator.



On a dark color, red black blue etc. I would top with a carnauba. But with a titanium being able to continually add more KSG is far superior to well, not.



I top my red civic with #16 when i use my klasse twins. I've heard #16 is one of the most durable carnaubas on the market too.



#16 looks excellent. But i need to apply it about once a month.



With KSG this is definitely not the case.



Cliffs:

Stick with SG as a topper for a light car as you can layer infinitely with it if you do.

If you top with s100 or p21s youll have to re-aio and then re2-3 coats sg.
