To PC or not to PC

i tried pc today for first time. it was awkward at first, getting used to keeping it flat and how much product to put on, and i really thought i was messing up the finish on my car by the way it looked spread but when I went to wipe off it just looked Great and it was so much easier to wipe off (i'm thick spreader by hand no matter how hard i try). in the end it looks just as good (maybe a tad better) WAY faster than by hand.
it really is goof proof and gives great results. I dont know how long or anything but at one point on the second half of doing my car I could tell I had everything all together and it seems to glide over the car. i only used enough pressure to keep it flat and gliding today. so i have same questions as you today preeski.

With the foam pads - there comes a point of no return. If you are putting enough pressue on the foam pads to push "into" them then it's probably to much and not doing any better. I don't use the side handle, I keep my palm on the back side of the PC - (the part behind the pad and backing plate) and that lets me keep a firm even pressue on it without applying to much.

I too used my PC for the first time the other day, and it was a learning experience. I only had time to do the hood, so it was fairly easy overall, but I worry about how hard it will be on other, smaller parts of the car. I don't have my DACP or Edge pads yet, so I just had to use some #9 and the included polishing pad. I used the method where you do each section horizontally, vertically, and two times diagonally, so the time savings were not that significant - I like to think that its just done 10 times better than spending the same time on it polishing by hand. I was impressed with how evenly a PC lays down a product on the finish, but I would still rather wax by hand. The noise and bulk of the PC make using it kind of a hassle, I would rather take a little bit of extra time waxing by hand and be able to listen to music and not have to lug a cord and machine around.
