Hey all,



I was wondering which 12 Volt Car Vac to purchase next, and what your thoughts are on the subject...



I am currently using a Black & Decker Car Vac Plus (with attatchments) which is by far the best I have found yet, BUT...They stopped making these fine little gadgets...dont ask me why...I have tried many others and none have come close to action my B&D provides.



I have even puchased 2 others with a Rotating Brush Motor attatchment (which the B&D doesnt even have) and my B&D Car Vac STILL works better, although I do utilize various carpet brushes at times to break loose dirt that my car vac cannot otherwise do by itself.



I did sample the 'ORECK' Car Vac and was almost as impressed with the suction it provided, but only comes with one attatchment...a Crevice Tool...that I felt was too big / wide to be as functional as I would like, especially for getting in between the car seat and console etc.



As I said...I am happy with what I am using now, but if there is in fact another car vac out there that any of you know about with maximum power, (for a 12 Volt) I would sure like to sample it. I think my 'Trusty' B&D is on its 'Last Legs', but I have used it constantly over the last 3 years with NO problems at all ! (taking timeout for meals of course <g>) I think I only paid approx $23 for my B&D, but that was over 3 years ago. I dont know how much a'Good' one will run me now...The 'Cheap' ones I bought at Wal-Mart, Target etc ranme approx $15-$18.



Any Info / Advice will be MOST appreciated.

Remember this no 12 Vdc vacuum will have as much power as a 120 Vac Shop Vac due to amperage draw problems through a lighter outlet. They have there uses when traveling.



I bought a Shop Vac some time ago that will draw 12 amps! now that equates to some Hp; approx = 1.93 Hp. Lets max out your 12v at 15 amps will draw only .24 Hp.



The sucking power is with them horses!

It's not a 12 volt, but Shop Vac sells a nice hanging vac. You need to plug it in but it's 1.5hp 1 gal wet/dry

quality name, really good sucking power, easy to carry and only $17 ($4 or so more for shipping) at lowes.com

I highly recommend this vac, I used it on the dirtiest car i've ever seen (like a cup of solid dirt). Some times past 3 hp it sucks up too much and just pulls the carpet and headboard fabric. It sits well in the footwell or on the seat of a compact car too.
 
I believe oreck (sp?) makes a $30 one that is supposedly good, to bad about the $17, damn that supply and demand. They probably raised it cause of my babbling :)
 
One more beating of the D/A polisher horse:D...
Looking at the handle config of the Meguars V2 VS the P/C XP ...I like the over the top design of the V2.....the XP advertises ,use just the weight of the machine......so are we really comparing apples ta apples....I havent looked at the weights of the machines..this could be a difference.....excuse me while I still beat the crap out of the comparison of these two good machines....:D

I've never used the handle on my 7424 or my 7424XP. I place my hand directly above the pad on the machine... (extension of my arm, if you will!)

1. I have big hands.
2. Heat and vibration don't bother me at all.

Geez, you guys have an answer for everything.....:) (then dont use the handle)....I should of thunkit !
