titan silver BMW hand detail pics!

hey all! I have been getting really into the whole detailing thing, and I can't wait to try some of the new-to-me products (thinking of the klasse twins + a wax over megs gold shampoo and clay magic)...but I wanted to try to get my baby to shine using the stuff I had already: blue coral wash (I know I know!), clay magic with the supplied lube, kit polish (awful. awful stuff...it was $3 for a reason), and topped it off with good ol' turtle wax hardshell spray.

despite my sorry supplies (except the clay, that stuff rocks!), I think I got a pretty decent result. I'm interested in other members' opinions of the outcome, and suggestions for new products to try on my metallic silver paint. BTW, this was all done by hand.

hopefully enjoy!

Well, for the products used, it looks pretty good. WHat I see when I look at it is that the paint looks "dry". I would suggest you order some stuff from auto geek or similar and really make that bimmer shine! I would use some AIO + SG, then maybe some nattys white, Liquid sourvran<-- I know, spelling. or another good quality wax. Even NXT would make a world of difference.

Btw, Ive used that hard shell in my pre- autopia days, it really sucks lol.

Looks pretty good by hand, if you don't have a PC you might want to consider switching to Vanilla Moose hand polish and a carnuba like Natty's Blue, the K-Twins don't tend to look very good on a less than perfectly polished surface.

Just shows you don't have to spend a lot of money to get your car looking at least decent. :)

I agree with timmah, VM + Natty's will look really nice on your car.

thanks for the suggestions! I don't recall seeing VM on autogeek...do you have a specific site you'd like to plug? otherwise I'd just google it (to let you all know that I'm not TOTALLY helpless! :think2 )

but the surface actually is in really good shape, and I read in here somewhere that the AIO and SG combo make metallic paints POP... so I guess my desires are the same as everyone else's: the best "wow" look. can the wet and "pop" happen at the same time?

Nice bimmer. It looks like it has been well taken care of. Great job with limited supplies. The clay probably helped a lot.

Good Work

You Need More Better Finishing With Better Wax Like P21 -s100.

Or Like Scott Said ..vm + Nattys

the clay was awesome! to any that haven't done that yet...get up, right now, and go do it! I've never had the paint feel so nice. I'm hooked on the claybar
