Tire Rubbing

I've got a question about rubbing. I just put 235/50/18s on my Cadillac. When I am turning into a parking spot at very low speeds, the tire will rub the wheel-well, is this particularly damaging to my car or the tires?

Depends on what is rubbing. Check the inside of the wheelwell for signs of wear. Once you have located these areas you can grind a little bit of the area away for more clearance. You may need to roll your fenders as well depending upon the offset of the whell.

Have a close look at the tyre where it is rubbing and make sure that it is not being "gouged". If it is just a rub it shouldn't damage the tyre in the short term but may have an effect over a long time.

It is definitely something you should plan on fixing. In OZ the authorities would consider you car "unroadworthy" and put you off the road until it is fixed and inspected.
