Tire Dressings ... different tires / different results...

Luster

COMPULSIVELY ANAL
Like most of you, I've become kind of a tire dressing guru.... Only because I've used so many different brands and types.... :ermm:

What I'm seeing is the same exact tire dressing applied to 4 different brands of tires, may have a completely different look on all 4...

Initially, they pretty much all look the same, but.....

Example... Meg's Endurance... identically applied...

After one week...

Uniroyal Tiger Paws - Still very shiney and black, NO sling
Goodyear Amer. Eagles - Very dull and starting to brown, slings badly
BFGoodrich Comp T/A - Soaked in, but still very black, NO sling
Kuhmo Ecsta - Still shiney & black, slight sling

Does the compound or the hardness/softness of the rubber have an impact on how Tire Dressing behaves on the tires? (Evidently)....

Also, sidewall graphics/patterns will impact the longevity, sling, etc. of dressings....

Just an observation...... Comments?

...

I think the tires make a huge difference for shine, but I'd like to hear more about durability.

So would I !!!

I've found Meg's Endurance to have the longest life. A lot of guys don't like it because it's pretty shiney for 2 or 3 days.

But, on certain tires, I've seen it last 3 - 4 weeks, tires still nice and black, matte finish and no sling.

I have also observed that my rear tyres lose the shine first while remain black around wk 3 while my front are still black and shiny. I'm also using Meg endurance on continental sports contact ,hmmmm

I think that happens because your front tires are throwing up road dust, debris, etc. while driving, and the rear tires pick it up and appear more dull.

I like to call it SPEED DUST.

Not a problem for me, I usually do my Tire dressing at least once a week.
