Tire conditioning

I've done a search on here as well as using Google ( site:autopia.org.....) and can't seem to find anything that helps...

I'm going to try M40 to clean tires. But once that's done I need to find a protectant/conditioner for the rubber. I don't really like the gloss that I get from Meg's Hot Shot. I'd prefer to have the tires look new, not plastic.

Any suggestions or links to threads that I might have missed?

Thanks...

You're bound to get a lot of responses to this question. It's like asking "what wax"... everyone has their favorite tire shine.

303 Aerospace Protectant is the #1 based on reviews in the Autopia Reviews database.

M40 is a cleaner/protectant. I don't usually use it on tires, but it should leave that low sheen, "new tire" look by itself, however, I doubt it will last very long (same goes for 303--I usually put a coat of that on before storing tires seasonally, but not for tires that are going to see rain, etc.)

"I had a funny feeling" ...lol....that I wouldn't get a definitive answer on this. I was hoping to get a few suggestions for products that don't leave that high gloss shine.

I did notice that 303 gets mentioned quite a bit here for conditioning seals and vinyl.

David, I didn't see if HD had any other conditioner for rubber/vinyl other than HD Protect. Protect is described as providing a Hi Gloss finish. Is that right?

EDIT: Tried a few different search tags and found a few more threads... I thought that this MUST have been covered once or twice...... :chuckle:
