Tire chain kisses...

Ah nuts! I drove my JD tractor a hair too close too my Honda Civic and the tire chains did this to the rear bumper:

Trying to correcting that mess should be interesting... :yikes:

Sorry this had to happen to you.. :(

Is the paint removed and you are looking at primer or something underneath ?

Whatever you do, remember bumper paint is not very thick and too much heat and pressure can actually cause it to wrinkle and come off..

Since the bumper's plastic, it does not dissipate heat very well compared to metal panels which dissipate heat much better and quicker...

And you already know that Honda paint is on the medium to soft side anyway...

Good luck !

Sorry to see this Angus. I'm always worried when I move my snow thrower into the garage...next to my wife's car.

Thanks Dan! Yeah the paint is gone, the steel chain ends took it clean off. Good reminder about bumper paint - I'll keep it in-mind.

If the car is flat black and you don't want to re paint dr color chip will get you close.

I've got some old Flamenco Black Pearl touch up paint sitting around that I'll test out first. If that doesn't work I'll try Dr Color chip :)

Exactly! Thankfully it was my DD and not my wife's car or my garage queen. I paying too much attention on keeping the plow blade clear of everything and missed how close the tire was to the civics bumper. Be careful with your blower if you've got chains on it!

Ouch

Sorry

At least it's just the bumper

Thanks, Ron. I can live with it being just the bumper - could have been way worse!
