How much was the largest tip you ever received and what was the price you charged the customer. We received a $100.00 tip on a $169.95 detail

Holy Smokes, thats a decent tip, you must have a done a great job ! I normally get 50.00 dollar tips on a $175.00 job with one client, others give ya 10-20.......some, none !!

I have customers who regularly tip me $5-15 every week and at Christmas, I get at least 2-3 $100 tips each year.

Today, I washed and waxed a brand new Escalade ESV and a Dodge Ram 1500 and got a $25 tip.

I usually get anywhere from 10-20 above what i charge, but i manly give it to the kids that help me out. I don't take their tips they work hard.

Last week I did get tipped a bottle of "Crystal" from a doing a guys navigator

I hardly ever get tips, cept ones like, "Don't eat yellow snow".

I did though make $3,500 in about 20 minutes when I sold a clients Mercedes for them. They handed me an envelope stuffed full of cash and I about dropped dead.

Oh yeah, they paid me on a regular basis $150.00 to just do a wash and vacuum, no kidding.........dang I sure miss those folks!!

A friend of mine and I did 3 cars for a client each week for about 60$ each and he tipped 40$ on each car (120$ extra each week). That was nice...

just a guess... but was it black and rockin' the chrome 20s with a pair of 15s in the back?

I'm not sure if my 'tips' are fair or not. Because I don't charge a set price really. I just tell the customer $35 or so for the suplies I used, and then how ever much based on how happy they are. I mostly do friend's, friend's of friend's and club member's cars. But, the most i've gotten 'extra' was a job where the guy paid me $120. So i guess thats like a $85 tip....

A side note, what is the tipping etiquite for detailing? Is it even normal that you get one? If so how normal, more like tipping a waiter, or tipping the person who cuts your hair.
