Tips on EX + Carnuba Please....

Doing car show on Sunday.

Sold the Ferrari (after several trophys) and bought a red Lambo.

Paint cleaned and used Meg Speed Glaze. Just got Poorboys EX with Carnuba. Using Scottwax's product list.

Questions: 1) Hand or Machine (R/O)? If RO white polishing pad or black fine pad?

2) How long to leave on before wiping off? Bottle says 30-60 minutes for best results. Can you leave it on longer like Klasse?

3) Does layering 2 coats benefit? I plan to top with P21S.

Thanks for any input or tips you have....

Frank

for ex, you should apply by hand, or by pc the first time, followed by hand.. and yes 2 layers does benefit.. i would say 3 layers topped with a good carnauba paste would look sick..

any pics of the lambo?

1) Black Fine pad with RO, then layers after use hand

2) Leave up to 45 mins or more. Seems like you can leave it on longer, but I wouldn't. Removal is a breeze after the bond time

3) Yes! I love EX one coat itself, such a rich warm deep shine.

It's been a long time since I've been here...Where the heck is the add attachment button to add a pix?

Never Mind... lol

This is a pix when I just brought her home after a 700 mile road trip. She's dirty but you can see paint is in great shape...

How long to wait between coats? Any tips like should I mist the applicator with a QD instead of water or any thing else you can suggest.

With EX w/carnauba, you can wait or remove once you apply it to the whole car. I haven't noticed much difference with either method but it never hurts to wait a little while. EX wipes off with ease. PwC, VM or AIO all make excellent bases for EX (assuming proper polishing steps and if #80 did the trick, then you are good to go). You can also go with it right over #80 if you wish.

2 coats is sufficient, 24 hours apart. You may not even need to top it since it has a very deep glow as is.

We are expecting pics of the detail. :)

That's Scott - You are always a frist class act.

I'm freaking out because I'm changing my regular routine and this is the first time I'm showing the car.

Re: AIO - I tried a little on top of 80, but did not like the look...seems AIO will remove the 80, know what I mean?

Will post pix (with trophy I hope) :)

700 mile road trip??? With *that* car on *that* trailer??? Are you crazy!!

Just playing with you, but I would have had her in a nice enclosed trailer or at least one with a little more room there! ;)

Oh, don't get me wrong. It's a car and should be driven. I was just emphasizing that *I* would have never done that. If I ever have a car as awesome as that, you better believe that it would barely ever see the highway. That being said, if you can't afford to fix the car if something happens, you shouldn't own it anyway so I'm sure if I had one, I'd drive it too. It's just odd to see a car as expensive as this one, on such a tiny trailer like that.

LOL

Here's "the story". All went down fast. I've been after the Lambo for 2 years. Belonged to the pres of Ford Motors and was with private collector with 50 cars (even has airstrip on his property with a Lear 23).

Found buyer for Ferrari in Chicago, but no deal if he can't get it before Xmas (7 days away). Only 1 enclosed truck in FL going to Chicago and he was in Tampa. I loaded the Ferrari on my trailer and hauled a$$ to Tampa, loaded it on the tractor trailer at a truck stop. Left my trailer there and drove to Chicago. Did the deal in Chicago, drove straight back to pick up trailer, then to pick up Lambo about 700 miles from home. Got home 2 days before Xams. What a Road Trip...really great.

Trailer is custom made for me. All aluminum, tandum elec brakes, electric winch, break out fenders and custom 10' ramps due to low nose on car. Did not want enclosed due to extra weight and my boat canvas guy made a special cover that goes over the regular cover that snugs the whole thing tighter than Britney's behind :) I only use it for car shows further than 300 miles and to track my car either at Moroso or Sebring..

Not to go OT:

Scott - Your combo is KILLER and my new products of choice. After 2nd coat of EX and seemed any topper would ruin it! So all I did was a quick hit of IHG to give it real depth just for the show. Thanks for the help and answering the PM
