Tips for California WB use

So as far as I can tell, the split between people who loveit/hateit is about 40/60.

Those who tried it and hated it did so becaues they found it resulted in scratches or they couldn't stand the "squeegie" sort of noises it made.

(from what I have read anyway)

*When the water blade is brand new, it is stiff and its surface is very shiney. It will definately squeak and try to catch. try using it a bit longer and let it "wear in"

The car must be washed with soap completely and rinsed with liberal amounts of water if you want to dry it with the WB.

Now, take your WB, a small clean rag and some instant detailer stuff.

Shoot the WB with the instant detailer and rub it down to make sure all the dirt is off.

Dampen the rag with the instant detailer (I say small rag just so you don't use a lot of detailer on a big rag)

After any water sheeting/running/moving off your car has done so, mist the surface of the entire car with the hose so that it is holding and beading as much water as possible. (to little water and it will squeak and chatter)

Now here is the part that you must learn on your own. The WB should be moveing quickly when you wipe the water away.

Just imagine that the WB must ride a top a film of water accoss the paint (which I really think it does).

If you press to hard or move to slowley, it will squeak, chatter, and maybe grab, leaving water behind.

If you press to lightly or move to fast, you leave water behind

To keep the WB slick and clean of dirt that could be blowing around, swipe it with the damp detailing rag after every few passes on the car

With a little practice it becomes easy to dry sweeping depressions and lines of the car. This is done by useing one or two fingers pressing on the clear blade part to conform it so that you keep an even pressure along its edge.

It is impossible to get the water off of areas that the WB can't fit or sweep along properly. So finnish up those spots with an MF cloth or something. (there won't be many)

So I guess they keys are, proper speed and pressure, and keep that detailer damp rag in hand.

Just feel like its a great product that gets torn down, not really from misuse, just less than ideal use.
