thoughts on Finish Kare products?

I can't believe you have never seen this dust if you are spraying directly to the car. Maybe the trigger is different when its shipped overseas? Once the FX100 is airborn the yellow bits get everywhere. I woud spread it around with the short nap of the MF and in the back forth wiping some whould always get on the windows, canvas top, windhield, trim, and even the tires. If less product was used, less dust. I never used more than one full trigger pull per panel, seemed like overkill.

Well spraying it to a foam applicator cuts down on the amount of product used and limits overspray for sure. I transferred my 425 and 146 to an empty Mothers Show time bottle and works great.

The Duragloss Aqua Wax bottle seems to do the best job of any OTC spray. One squirt and nearly half the cover is covered!

p.s.

the spray setting never really works well on the FK triggers. Feels like it stuck or broken. I've noticed this on several different products which is probably irelevant since they all use the same trigger. I don't mind as long as they keep the price down.

I've never seen that. But I see yellow, curdy, crumbly, solid little pieces at the top of my bottle; dried out and they won't re-liquify - even when I store my bottle upside down.

I think the sprayer is the same: black semi-crappy one, which already sprays a stream when you turn its dial to the "spray" setting. I screw back a bit until it sprays a fine mist, and no worries. Sometimes it clogs a bit, but a stronger trigger pull shoots the liquid out again. Even then, I can't see yellow dusty particles.

How I use it? Well, I shake it very intensively for a couple of seconds. I spray maybe a quarter or even less trigger pull onto the work area (quarter panel/door) and wipe over with an MF. No pressure, just speedy QD motions until it completely disappears. Done.

I never use applicators, just a soft, general purpose MF towel, and I always work it in until it disappears. I don't spread it, and I don't let it haze.

I use this method with 425 as well.

I saw people who use the QD sprays as a mist, covering/wetting the whole car, then fight with the towels. I think this approach is completely wrong and can cause smearing, streaking or other issues. I use very little product. Even with WAUD-type sprays, I like to apply them directly onto a wet wash mitt and wipe them on the surface directly.

I honestly did'nt like them at 1st , but now thats all use. just started with FX100....this stuff is awsome IMO.

I guess I just was'nt used to the products , coming from PB stuff , I expected it to knock me off my feet and it ded'nt , after a good AIO #215 to clean all the other crap off and start with that and 2180 followed by PW , really made a difference in how it looked , I was putting it over to much old stuff I think.

I would speficically love to try all of their anti static products. 146 and 425 have completely changed my detailing regimen. I don't fuss with any pastes of any form so detailing takes two seconds and

my car is ALWAYS clean even though its parked outside 90% of the time. Rain melts away surface dust leaving a slick surface. Does it get better than that?

in the non anti static department pink wax and fx100 do pretty good job. I have 330 and 121 samples which I never tried.

I may have to ask for sample of 217 on my next order.

I have done a couple of silver cars and I love 217. Try 3 coats of 1000p also...wet wet wet

I was the same way when I tried the fk stuff. I thought it was just ok, then a couple months later after trying 30 other brands, I then used fk stuff and worked with it and learned it. Now I must have to say that I have not seen anything deeper or glossy. I highly recomend the 1016 wash and wax..It leaves a very deep wet finish. It also repells water like rain-x...amazing stuff

As most of you know, I'm a mobile detailer so I get lots of vehicles to try products out on. I've mainly worked with Meguiar's due to the ease of use and it's well known. I recently ordered the 900-1-Car Kare Kit and have just finish using each product at least 5 times.

Here's my review of each...

118SC Car Wash

Works awesome.

Not a high-sudsing formula but it's cleaning ability is amazing. Very, very concentrated making it a value point for me. Works well on brake dust and bugs.

121 Ultimate Cleaner

This is one versitile product.

It's concentrated formula gives it multi-tasks properties.

10:1 is good for everyday cleaning like plastic and vinyl and cloth interiors. I even used it on leather. 4:1 really cleaned tires well. Has pleasant scent and bacteria killing attributes.

303 Glaze

This one stumped me at first.

"A glaze with cut?"

Yep....sure is. Does well at removing and filling light to moderate imperfections. One note though; a little goes a long way.

2180 Ultra Seal

I used this on my personal work truck 3 months ago. Still beading....tightly. Very easy to apply and remove and once again, a little goes long way.

Will stain a white pad though. Highly durable and give decent shine.

108 Top Kote

I also use this on my truck. The anti-static statements made are true. Dust is repeled well. Works well on leather, vinyl, and plastic. Give a nice new look to tires...not glossy but new. Doesn't take much either. Has a neutral scent. Make sure you clean the surface before use to remove all other chemical used before.

425 Ultra Slick Poly Wipe Spray Detailer

Work wonderfull between washes. Not really a cleaning Quick Detailer. This is one you want to use after a wash. Give that just waxed slickness to the paint. Has anti-static properties that DO work. I can see it's affect on glass as well. Aweson on LCD and regular television screens.

2685 Pink Wax

A little harder to remove than others and smell chemically but well worth the results!

Goes on so smoother with a foam applicator. Glides on. You only need a little once your pad is primed. I've only put this wax on by hand. You may want to buff off with a PC and bonnet. Give lots of depth and glow. Metallics pop. Used it on my wife's van and got 3 months durability this summer in GA.

I will using this product line up exclusively in business. Value and performance helped my make this decision.
