This weekend... 330xi + CLK320

Well, the interior on the BMW 330xi was in awful shape and Rich really did an amazing job cleaning it up. We mixed up the woolite solution and it really made him happy. Unfortunately, I didn't get any decent interior pics... :(

330xi process:

- p21s x2 (wheels)

- AIO/SG (wheels)

- amway spray gel bug & tar on the bad stuff - there was a lot (yes, amway... it's decent stuff, but I don't use it much, just got a couple cans laying around)

- autosol metal polish (exhaust tips)

- armor all (wheel wells)

- invisible glass (uh, glass) :)

- meguiars gel (tires)

- woolite 6:1 (leather & interior trim), folex (mats & carpets)

- wash (zymol)

- clay (oh man, was it gunky - a downtown dc outside-always car)

- wash/qd as needed

- mask trim

- #80/sonus green/5 (swirls were heavy, but not removed on this job)

- #16/hand - first time with it and I loved it.

Here are befores on the 330...

on to the CLK320...

2000 CLK320 Process:

Well, this car is five years old and the owner gets it "detailed" somewhat regularly and has a "coat of wax thrown on now and again"... Well...

- p21s x2 (wheels)

- AIO/SG (wheels)

- Autosol (exhaust tip)

- 303 (tires, thought I'd try a low-gloss look)

- 303 convertible top cleaner, soft brush, light agitation

- 303 fabric protectant (top - wow, it beads!)

- lexol leather cleaner, folex mats and carpet

- invisible glass

- armor all (wheel wells)

- wash (zymol)

- spot clay

- wash (zymol)

- #83/SFX1/4.5 (x2) - first time with DACP, but man I loved it.

- #80/sonus green/5

- #34 QD

- Souveran/hand... mmmm tasty.

- rest overnight in my garage

The client said he's never seen it look this good "it's a different color!" and "wow" multiple times and a nice hefty tip! He was really amazed - it was so gratifying, but man I need a radial... Oh, and we've now got his other two cars lined up and regular washing :D

Thanks to both of you.

The 330xi took about 5 hours and the CLK320 about 8... Of course, I was really struggling with those swirls, not to mention finding the right pad and getting used to the 83... The CLK was sort of a test car for me (knowing I wouldn't harm it, but figuring out how long it'd take and what exact combo to use). It was enough of a test for me to really realllly want to have a better tool for that sort of job. :) I don't know how people can do this regularly without a radial.

Thanks again. Now to rest.
