This was my father's Oldsmobile!

70 Oldsmobile 442 Holiday Coupe

I inherited the car from my dad in 81. He purchased it new 10/02/69. It has spent it's entire life in the AZ desert.
I drove it for awhile and then it went into garage storage for 18 years. I resurrected it in 12/03. It went through a 'very extensive' weekends restofication process that lasted over a year.

The Reference Detail!

The undercarriage is just as clean as the top side.

It was resprayed with a base/clearcoat about a year ago. The pictures don't show the paints high metallic content.

It has 8 coats of Zaino Z-2 (not PRO) applied.

I am planning on experimenting with something different on the paint this year.

A truely beautiful car.
It's nice to see American Muscle in it's glory especially when it's handed down father to son.

Now, how long did it take you to get all that rubber off the rear 1/4 panel :lol

Wow, that's the way they should make cars. The big three would have no problems if they had a model like that. Nice burnout, fathers everywhere would be proud of tire destruction like that :bass .

IMHO, you just can't go wrong with American Muscle. I'm young but man do I love older cars. Real great that you honor your father in that way. I'm sure he would be proud! Nice burnout by the way.

:headbang

Thanks for all the compliments.

I am just about ready to work the paint finish on my 66 Nova. It has been 90 days.
I had some ghost flames applied and the car topped with 6 coats of clear.

I went for a quick 3 -4 minute drive up the road after the burnout. When I came back the rubber was still smoldering on the driveway.

Thanks,

The display was a one time thing performed for pictures that were taken over a month ago. It was cleaned up imemediately.

Actually there was basically 'nothing' on the painted panels. The majority was contained inside the wheel well which was wiped spotless.

Wow, beautiful job on the Olds John! I love the paint on your Nova, outstanding job by whoever did it. You have a couple of great automobiles, my hat is off to you.
