I guess i must be reading it different. The only place it was held was Jacksonville for 23 hours but made it to Doraville in 7 minutes then onto Atlanta in 50 seconds. Packages don't fly themselves but it looks like they time warp though. So I still don't get what you are complaining about. Instead of moaning about it here maybe next time you should pay the express or Red Label so you can get it in 2 days. That way it has more time to collect dust on your shelf.
So, this thread wasn't started to turn into yet another bash this, bash that thread. Please check the attitude at the door or don't post.
Also, I wasn't intending to insult with the Saturday comment. I was just saying that they do and - without statistics in front of me to say otherwise - I would agree that Saturday delivery is primarily to businesses.
I also think that you were getting the numbers confused. Looking at it again I can see how, I just copied and pasted it from the tracking site and didn't realize there was no space between the date and time. It was 7 hours between Jacksonville and Doraville and then 1 minute until departure.
The actual holds I was referring to were as follows:
- Over 4 hours in Stuart
- About 23 hours in Jacksonville
- Almost 14 in Nashville
- Over 12 in Lenexa
I do realize that I could choose to upgrade to expedited shipping and I choose not to almost every time. The point is that it does not take that long to transport the package, the only reason that they have the faster shipping options (excluding the next day to 2 day shipping) is for extra money. There is absolutely no other reason. The technology shipping companies use is specifically designed to make transport faster and more efficient and they pay quite a bit to use it. They could offer more to the customer without increasing their costs but, to increase profits, they don't. That's fine, that's business. However, at certain times they take it a little far.
The best example I have (and no, I don't have screenshots or anything to show) was a friend that ordered some parts from LMC Truck. He didn't realize that LMC is in Lenexa, Kansas when he placed the order. The package was held for almost 4 days before it was delivered to his home in Overland Park, Kansas. His actual house is about 20 minutes from LMC.
A follow up to my wheel issue. The company sent me a FedEx label to return it. I guess they don't want more damage lol.
I've had that happen both ways before. I think it's about whoever will do it cheapest at the time for them.
My only real ups complaint is they're not consistent. I live in an apt complex and one times they leave packages at my door and sometimes they leave them in the office. No rhyme or reason. Doesn't matter the sender or any of that. I hate when they leave them in the office cause then I can't get them until next day. Either way, I just wish they'd make up their mind what the standard is and stick to it.
I've also had that happen at the last apartment I stayed at. They were supposed to leave it at the office but they didn't always do that. Even delivered it to the wrong apartment once. :-\ They've also delivered to the wrong house number before too... completely wrong address. I get the street part that happens all the time (my house and one street over have the same number and they're both on the corner, it's just ours is Terr and that one is St.) but the wrong house number?
