I am asking because I am getting a brand new black car next week

Black paint is a part time job. Seriously.

=================

Bryan-looking good so far, can't wait to see the finished pictures. How much time do you think you will end up putting into this car?

040 black is so soft, it should polish out easily.

John, As deep as the defects are, nothing is easy yet.

You're absolutely right nothing is EASY when it comes to black paint. The results are looking great though. Good job.

My PTG tells me that I have some repainted panels coming up, so just when you think you have it figured out, they change the questions. :xyxthumbs

Wow, I really need to scrounge up some money to spend a day with you Bryan, LoL. Great progess!

Come on by, I'll put you to work. :chuckle:

I'd better get back at it myself. :waxing:

One of my overhead 8' fluorescent bulbs went out yesterday, so I went to HD (they take back the old ones as well) and picked up 4 new ones. They seem to have a blue tint to them but they are brighter then the old bulbs.

Hood before:

Thanks Rydawg!!

Went back and tried to polish without airsanding. It's just not going to get it done on the hood.

So 1500/3000 trizact again:

I had a few stubborn pigtails so I added a heavier compound to the process:

Strada 1000 black edge wool

3m ECC edge yellow wool

P1500 edge green wool

SIP green german ccs foam

Still only getting .10 mil or less reduction in clearcoat.

Very nice, where do you purchase the Trizact paper from? I might have a couple wet sand jobs coming up and these seem to be the proper way to go! Once again GREAT JOB!

Ill have to come up to the ATL sometime and get some tips from ya! ;)

Thanks! Sometimes you can find some great deals on ebay for them. These are used with an air sander.
