This a good combo?

I plan on using after a wash and clay...

1) Megs #83 to remove swirls

2) Megs # 9

3) AIO

4) a few layers of Z2

Do do I need the AIO following the 83 or will it just be an extra step?

I realize that I am going to have to use a polish following the #83, are there any products that people recommenf following the #83 that will not get removed by the AIO?

I dunno if the #9 will be aggressive enough for the #83's micromarring. People get different results with the #83 so it's hard to predict what will happen when you use it.

I'd use 3M PI-III MG (05937), recently discontinued but still commonly available. It doesn't leave anything behind to interfere with the bonding of whatever you put on after it. And it should be strong enough to use right after the #83.

Can this be used as an alternative to the 83? From what I have read it is a little similar.

PI III MG has less bite than #83, I would say it is closer to Meg's #80 than #83. If you want a pair of polishes that will handle most of your needs go with PI III RC (Rubbing Compound) and follow up PI III MG (Machine Glaze). If you'd rather stick with Meg's products then get #83 and follow it up with #80. Another good choice would be Poorboy's SSR2.5 followed with SSR1.

#80 will leave some oils behind so you'll want to clean that off before using Z2, AIO would do that nicely if you already have some.

After reading a little more, I'm not sure if I am going to do the Mederenza IP + FP combo or go with the SSR combo. If I do either combo, will it still be beneficial to use the AIO after the second step?

Secondly, I am going to use a PC, how man pads will I need for the first step of the swirl removal process and how many for the second? I have a full size car.
