Thinking about treating myself to some Zaino. Whats the minimum I need?

I won some money bowling and decided to buy some Zaino products. I'm not lokoing to go wild on stuff. But I thought I would ask you guys that use it.

Which products do I need? And I'm only using it on my cars.

i think the easiest would be the Zaino Triplets perhaps?

I agree they would be a great start:xyxthumbs

As far as the haters you will get to know the usual suspects.

Z-5 for dark colors and Z-2 for that extra bit of shine. It's a very good product, but I will say that sometimes I'll throw some M-26 on top to add some warmth back to the finish. My azure blue Mustang Mach 1 absolutely needs some carnauba richen the color up a bit.

Plus +1 on these I would also add the Z16 and Z6 to complete

Is the all-in-one similar to the Z2?

Do I need both of them?

ZAIO is a cleaner and leaves a little protection, Z2Pro doesn't clean at all and leaves very durable protection on a CLEAN SURFACE. ZAIO makes Z2Pro's durabilty much better. IMO, you need both. You can substitute Z5Pro for Z2Pro, but I think Z2Pro is wetter looking. ZAIO is the first product you should get, then EITHER Z2Pro or Z5Pro. Like Scott said, after these you need Z10 for leather, it is another must have. These are the must haves, and the other real nice additions are Z16 tire dressing, Clear Seal, and ZPC. The other sprays and Z7wash are nice, but not the core of the Zaino protection and are mainly used for maintenance. To be honest, once ZAIO/Z2Pro is applied on paint, all you have to do is wash your car for about 6 months with any car wash and it will look great.

During the sealant test from the UK a few months ago. Zaino AIO, Z-2 Pro and Z-5 Pro all lasted 4-5 months before the tester decided to stop the test.

These three along with Wolfgang Deep Gloss Sealant, Klasse AIO and Sealant Glaze out lasted around 50 or so other products. So Z-AIO is very durable.

To be honest I applied Z-AIO today, used Z-6 followed by Z-5 and I couldn't really tell that Z-5 improved the shine over the AIO.

So imo you could apply just the ZAIO and be pleased.

craigdt, answer to your question. I have use Duragloss fast clean and shine, Clearkote's QD, Optimum QD all with Zaino and never had a problem.

I've noticed that the site says an 8oz bottle will do 24 applications. Is it really that easy/common to get that many out of the bottle? Is that using a MF applicator, the cotton one's the site recommends or a foam applicator?

I use a microfiber applicator, but a cotton will do just fine.

If you do really light applications (per Zaino) you should get that many applications or very close. However, most put it on a little heavy and could go through a bottle pretty quickly. It takes a little practice to put it on lightly. I went back to Zaino yesterday, and it took me a couple of panels before I got the hang of it again.

I used way too much product at the beginning of my detail. It's easy to apply too much, because when you apply (per Zaino's instructions) it's so light you're not sure if the product is on the paint.

Also, if you apply "in my case" Z-5 too thick it can be hard to remove. It smears pretty bad. If this happens go over the paint with a damp microfiber cloth, or damp 100% cotton towel.

Why not apply Z2/5 with a PC?

You can, I've done it and had no problems, but Zaino doesn't recommend it.

Can I use an orbital polisher to apply/remove Zaino polish? It says orbital, but I imagine the same goes for PC, or flex as well.

A: Yes, you can use an orbital to apply Zaino Z-2, Z-3, or Z-5. I don't recommend it because you waste too much polish that way. The pad on an eleven inch polisher can absorb almost enough polish to coat your entire vehicle. Each time you use an orbital to apply Zaino polish, you are probably wasting as much polish, if not more than you actually applied to the car.

Whatever works for you though.
