thinking about opening a detail school

I have put much consideration into this, and im doing much research as we speak. Im thinking about opening my own training school, once I get a product line put together. This is one of my goals I want to achieve. Anyone have advice? All is appreciated.

Have lots of cash on the bank, lots of cash for inventory, and be ready for the "rainy days." IMO, any inventory based business is hard to get started. Are you going to do clear liquids, or just polishes? Are you going to bottle your own (pour up from drums)? Where are you going to store it? How do you plan on distributing it?

Distribution will come from people who attend the detailing training schools and advertisement for the internet. Storage is not a problem that is covered. Actually believe it or not, some companines dont have a big inventory, but if your disributer is close enough you can get it when needed.

My customers would be the people who would come and attend the training seminar, along with people like yourself. My main competitor for training would be detail king.

I think he may have meant what type of training. Are you looking to train future pro's or more the enthusiast?

I think TurbomanGT has done quite well giving classes to enthusiasts and he always seems willing to answer questions if you PM him.

I think you'd have a much broader customer base with enthusiasts, but be able to charge more for future pro's.

1- Why would these people come and attend the training?

2- What type of student would be interested in taking your training class?

3- How would these people benefit from this training?

4- What need would your training seminar fill?

How large of a class would you offer?

How are your public speaking skills?

Have you contemplated material/literature for your students?

What is fair market for your learning material?

Do you have access to a facility which will accomodate your electricity and water needs?

Are there water runoff issues?

Be prepared to practice what you preach, and the best of luck............stick with it, be determined, and be determined to be successful, be approachable, realistic, and not afraid to fail.

The class would be about 25 students or so, and my public speaking skills are pretty good I would say. i have thought about much material and would put together a good power point presentation for the business apsect of getting into detailing. The facility to do the training is not an issue at all, but i know this idea or dream would take alot of hard work.

Honestly, answers like this won't get your business plan very far.
