Thinking about getting a lift.....

only problem is, the garage we're building cant be too tall....I think my parents decided to go with like an 8 or 9 inch celing for the garage....The reason it cant be too tall is because we're putting a gameroom above the garage, and dont want to have a tower in the back of our house. Know what i'm saying?

Anyway, me and my dad both want a lift for our cars and our future project cars and stuff, but because of the low celings (for a lift), we're wondering if theres anything that could be used outside to lift the car up even if its only a few feet, to make exhaust work and other stuff like that easier...preferably something thats either weatherproof and descrete (sp?) or that can be moved inside when not in use. Anyone know of anything good to use?

if u do a search on lifts there is one topic where someone had the same criteria as you, and a couple suggestions and photos were posted. You'd probably want a scissor lift.

It really depends on what you are looking for a lift for. You mention exhaust work as one of the applications. For that a wheel lift like the Kwiklift would work great whereas a scissor lift like the Versalifts would probably get in the way. You really need to look at what you are going to use it for and pick the one that is going to work best for what you are going to use it most for.
