I would first like to say sorry if my post becomes a little long. Heres my case, Im still in highschool and don't have a job. I get compliments on the apperance of my car almost everyday. Last Saturday while washing and waxing my car some lady that lives in the neighborhood drives up and asked if I was the one who washed my car, I replied yes then she what I charge. I was so stunned I didn't know what to say and replied " I don't wash cars " we both laughed and she drove off. My mothers friends have told me to wash their cars but I again declined. So now I am here thinking on how to start. I was thinking of making some business cards in my graphics class and hand them out to some friends and the higher end cars in schools. I also want to print out a price sheet to show to the customer when I show up or when they pass by my house. I currently don't own a polishing machine nor a shop vac. I will probably go out and get a shop vac this weekend. Also I have a limited amount of supplies to work with. Here's the list
5 clays bars
Mothers back to black
Oxy-clean
Megs gold class shampoo
Zymol cleaner wax
Megsgold class leather conditioner
Megs ColorX
Megs nxt wax
Rain X wash and wax shampoo
Eagle-one A2Z
Megs hot shine tire spray
Raggtopp cleaner
Raggtopp fabric protectant
Megs nxt car wash shampoo
Also have some brushes for the rug, rim, tires etc. Only have 2 MF towels though, have to stock up on those. Have some pads to apply the wax and polish also.
This is a list of the detail I am going to offer plus the price.
1. Wash and Wax
a. wash
b. wax
c. clean and dress wheels and tires
d. vacuum interior
e. clean windows
f. quick wipe down of interior.
$40 1 to 1 1/2 hours
2. Full detail.
Includes a wash and wax plus :
Clay the paint
Polish
Detail carpet and mats
Detail Seats/Leather
Detail interior plastics
$120 4-5hours
3. Extreme detail
Includes both wash and wax plus full detail and
2 coats of wax
Rejuvinate all black plastics
Detail headliner
Vacuum trunk
Spot treat any problem areas on exterior/interior of car
$160 6-7hours
Of course I will make variations for people who want a wash and wax but want to clean the headliner etc. I belive there is a good customer base around my neighborhood because of their cars ( high end caddys and bmw, benz etc). I will do all the waxing and polishing by hand to be on the safe side plus I don't have a machine now
:doh .
I plan on also handing out some business cards to my teachers and offer them a discount ( they can refer me to other teachers and give me extra credit heh ). Anyone who already has a steady business like this please give me some pointers/critisism on any part of my plan. Any help would be appriciated.
On a side note, I would like to know some products for the paint that would make the customers really "WOW!" when they see the car.
