Ok folks I am looking for a new product to try and I am thinking of trying the Autoglym Super Resin Polish and the Extra Gloss Protection.

I would like to hear opinions from people who have used one or both of these products. I have seen some great pictures from our friend JohnRoss and Lowejackson.

I am looking for some durability (nothing over two months max really) and lots of shine and I want somthing different so please no one preach on ZAINO :)

Let's hear some opinions.

Tested it, didn't like it.

You can have the bottles I bought - hate the stuff! ick, gag, ick, wheeze, cough

Seriously, though, I found it difficult to use (strong chemical odor, appears to be more harsh than other products, was runny when pouring/using, dried white and wasn't as easy to remove as some other products are).

Just my .02.

I like the Super Resin Polish but no so keen on the Gloss, although other people have had greater results with the Gloss. Used together it does produce a glassy shine but goes after about 2 months (or 4 weeks in winter).

My choice is to use the resin and top with Blitz wax, this gives a deep rich shine.

I cannot remember who did a direct comparison with Klasse and said Autoglym had a slightly higher gloss but Klasse lasted longer.

Apply the polish in small amounts or it can be difficult to remove (but not that hard), leave for at least one hour and buff off. The Gloss is similar but if possible leave for 2 hours (one hour is enough).

I also like the glass cleaner and wheel cleaner but I no longer use the shampoo or rubber cleaners.

Give the stuff a try I think you will like it.

I received some Autoglym from the importer about 5-6 years ago when I was a member of the National Detailer's Association (I didn't renew membership-basically, I just got junk mail connected to them).

I am pretty sure it was the Super Resin. It had a decent shine and it was easy to use, but it did dust a bit and it didn't seem to last any longer than a carnuba. I stayed with Meguiars Mirror Glaze products (the Body Shop Pro line hadn't come out then). Easier to get, cheaper and better results, IMHO.

Probably worth trying though. Maybe they've made some changes since I used it.

Thanks a ton guys for all the opinions. I'm going to try some when I get the extra $ and I will definitaly post some before & after pics.

Long live Autopia the best forums on the net :)

Excellent products IMHO. Have used many of the "polymer sealant" type products, and Autoglym may be my favorite.

Surprised to see someone say it wasn't easy to buff off because I found the Autoglym products the easiest of all to buff off (using microfiber). Much easier than Klasse, for example.

BUT you have to be careful not to use too much product. A quarter size "splotch" on an applicator will probably do a half a hood or roof, at least.

ALSO you do have to let the Extra Gloss Protection dry a MINIMUM of one hour--an hour and a half is even better (the label states one-half hour to an hour, which is a little optimistic in my opinion). If you let it dry long enough removal should be easy.

The instructions on the bottle aren't as explicit as the instructions at the Autoglym website. Also CMA has some application tips at their website. Follow those instructions, and there should be no problems, should you decide to use the Autoglym products.

Also--as others stated above you do want to keep it away from vinyl, unlike some other products. I don't find that to be a problem, but some people do.

I use the Super Resin Polish twice a year--you can't layer the Super Resin Polish. You CAN layer the Extra Gloss Protection. Like other products of this type, it helps if you layer it, IMHO.

Durability:I applied about four layers of Extra Gloss Protection over a period of a month or so; the last was in late November. I'd say I got about three months and some change of good protection and shine that way (it was a very mild winter up here this year, however.)

The products do have a pronounced "chemical" smell. However I suspect most products of this type would have a very "chemical" type smell, if some type of fragrance wasn't added to them. The smell doesn't bother me--I'd rather have the stuff smell like what it actually is, rather than smelling like chocolate, cocoanuts or cherries. Seems a little safer that way.

I've also used some of their other products--I've used the vinyl protectant on tires and like it a lot--very reminiscent of 303--never used it on the interior, however (the only protectant I'll use on the interior is either Zymol Treat or Pinnacle--everything else is too glossy and slippery for my taste--even 303)

I also like the Glass Polish. The only Autoglym product I DON'T like is the car wash--very little sudsing. Although it seems to work okay for removing dirt and leaving the car looking nice, the lack of suds bugs me. I wouldn't recommend it.

Here is a prior thread regarding Autoglym. It got the "Ron K seal of approval" which indicates to me that the Autoglym products are safe and use good quality ingredients (even if they do have a "chemical" smell).

Wicked stuff to get off the trim, so if you use it, DO NOT get it on the trim or you will be sorry!

In terms of ease of use, removal, shine and durability I have put it up against Mother's Reflections, Reflections marginally better all round.

WHAT!!!! You are thinking of using something besides Zaino. Do you not know that Zaino has been given to us by the almighty Sal which translated it hebrew extremist means GOD. Repeat after me while doing stride jumps Z1 Z2 Z3 Z4 Z5 Z6 Z7 Z8 Z9...............

Seriously glad to see someone willing to try a different product line. I have used the super resin polish about a year ago on a few customer vehicles. Very easy to use was impressed.

Every Little Detail is indeed a sick, demented and mischievous creature. I should know, I am one too!!!

:bounce

Thank God for a fresh opinion!!!!!

And by the way, wasn't using Zaino and Klasse one of the ten commandments?:scared

What about Liquid Glass or Finish First? I've used LG and it's certainly a good product with some durability and a good reflective shine. I've also seen results from FF and they are quite good as well.

The gentleman tried to give me the key and "take off." I told him we need to have a look before he leaves. So after he agreed to my "revised" price and gave me the key. He was on his way.

One step polish on the exterior to give the paint a nice gloss. Interior would get a good vac, leather and all hard surfaces cleaned/treated.

I had my interior specialist come out so she could see what she was up against. :Gift:

She almost went into early retirement after looking at this one. :scared:

The boss and I started vacuuming the interior right away. She with the dyson and me w/ the ridgid. Vac as best we could, then brush, compressed air and vac again.

Emptied out the dyson after the mats and just the right side, looks like another dog is hiding in there:

I had to head into work, so I left the boss with cleaning the leather and hard surfaces. Some APC 1:10 and a brush.

Wheel brightener will come in handy on these:

Hope to have some pics for everyone of the completed project soon, but its another busy week.

I have a Golden and a Shepard that don't put out that much hair. I also use a Dyson Animal and hand held and love em . Good luck with that mess.
