They dropped off a 2003 Honda dog house today

^Yep. Dirty but manangeable, and most owners will appreciate the improvement even if it is not 110 percent.

I did a boat on Saturday that had been in storage for a while. Mice had gotten in and had their way with the carpet, life jackets, and anything else they could chew up. Every inch of the boat was covered in mouse crap. It gets better. They unleashed cats on the mice so there was cat hair everywhere mushed into the mouse crap.

Dealt with a boat and a Jeep like that. Had to pull the carpets out of the Jeep and power wash them. At least they come out easy.

Ya know, I honestly didn't even realize that kids frequently make messes in vehicles until I joined Autopia and saw what the Pros here have to deal with...I mean, my friends and I sure never made messes when we were growing up, our parents wouldn't have stood for it, and my friends and in-laws with kids don't let 'em mess things up either even though they don't really care about their vehicles.

Too much doctor spock and hippies raising kids these days and letting kids do what they want.

I agree with you on the this one, I as a kid would never have been allowed to make some of the messes that I see...

Heh heh, I had a feeling we'd agree on this one :xyxthumbs

Also realize that if you live in an area where there's a real winter (snow, slush, salt, gravel, etc), interiors will get even worse. Where I live, in the winter it will dip down to -45F at times, so you really stop caring about how your interior looks until summer rolls around again, lol.

While it never gets *that* cold here (yikes, -45 is *COLD* ), yeah, I do live in a "severe winter area". Just another thing you gotta deal with...my wife runs her OE carpeted mats in the winter and it's not all that hard to keep 'em OK.

Oh just get me going on that one!

Here's a way to [tick] off friends who complain about how their new-aged-raised kids turn out: suggest that "parents get the kids that they deserve".

Did someone say video?..

Actually, that wasn't quite as gross as I was expecting! Good choice of soundtrack :chuckle:

Cleaning the carpets via extractor would of doubled the price of the detail.

And I bet the added income might not have been all that worth it to you ;)

I know lots of people in the dog world, but other than the folks who own kennels most keep their interiors pretty OK....

Last night at doggie-school, I peeked in the various vehicles:

The lady who does grooming/rescue/etc. etc. lets her vehicle get pretty bad, but since she's doing the good work 24/7 I'll give her a pass. She's often said that to her the vehicle is just disposable transprotation so it's not like she isn't aware.

A lady who does full-bore competition and is just *all* about her dogs...well, she might oughta vacuum a little more often, or put down some carpet protection.

But none of the other vehicles looked any worse than a "typical family car"'s interior would look, nothing so gross that you wouldn't wear white clothes in it.
