They Call it "Velocity Red"!

ts is at topoftheline.com

I would not say it is Gawdy either! The car looks great!!

I might appreciate it in person more...ill have to go test drive a few to find out ;)

Oh by the way my wife is so jealous.

Scott-

Be very, very careful about that test drive! I went to test drive an RX-8 with no intention whatsover to buy one. I just wanted to see what Mazda's new Rotary powered vehicle was all about. I was already a big fan of the Rotary and had a Silver 93 RX-7 (twin turbo). I was so impressed with the RX-8 and how fun it was to drive, that I actually sold my beloved RX-7 that I had owned for seven years to get it:

I'll definitely miss my Silver Bullet, but no regrets either.

Wow, that color looks incredible, great job!:shocked Very nice car and choice of color--I now want one even more badly. Been avoiding even a test drive as I know what my reaction will be. I'll have to see that gold flake in person. :bow

oh man I am such a fan of the tt 93-94's!! that was a gorgeous car!! hmmm now to convince the wife about putting a baby seat in the backof an rx-8 lol :D

She wants the rx-8 more than i do...she has been following it for years now ever since it was a concept/prototype.

Anyone else still using Trade Secret? ;)

I sold my Velocity Red RX-8, and haven't tried it on my Silver Lotus yet. Given that my jar is 3 1/2 years old, is it still good (I have stored it indoors)?

Wow, I remember this one. I was awed when I saw your car. I can't believe it was 3.5 years ago.

Amazing how fast time flies.

Having young kids like I do make it fly even faster.

dang.. that is a very nice red, good job.

only thing that struck me was the exhaust tips, but other than that me likey :D

beautiful car and colour - I think the European ones are a solid red as I have seen plenty but never any flake ??? Shame - that is incredible :D

I think if you have stored the wax in a cool, dry place it should be ok even though it has been a while.

I would check and make sure that the texture is still the same as you remember. If not, I wouldn't use it.

If that one isn't good you are more than welcome to roll down to Temecula and we can throw on some Souveran.

Yep, you got me on the exhaust tips! Of course with a Rotary motor, those tips would be dirty like that after having the engine on for a couple of minutes!! :angry

Thanks, the texture looks fine so it should still be good. :)

Oh I understand, got a couple friends with RX-7's. Hell even mine's bad about it with not having the cat removed and an increased FPR. You planning any mods to it?

Nope, I sold the car back in September and replaced it with a Lotus Exige S! :woot:

I've seen that paint on a couple Mazda 3's and have thought it was absolutely amazing. Yours looks even better, WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great job :D

*re-read the thread and realized this was posted 3-4 years ago* *runs away in shame*

*still think it was a great job*

Please don't run away in shame, because I really appreciate the compliment...especially from someone with your experience. Thanks!

I will be doing a full detail on my Lotus here soon, but no doubt that the pictures will not be as impressive as the RX8 because the Lotus is Arctic Silver.

Damn that paint is smoking hot!!! Love the color and love the flakes.

What camera are you using (lens too) btw?

Nikon D70. I was using an 28-200 zoom lens with these pics (I now have the 18-200 lens with VR).
