The Unofficial *Official* Politics Thread

I just thought it was a funny photo! Can you imagine the uproar if I posted a pic depicting Obama as an ape? They would do a Howard Cosell on me. Remember when he said "Look at that monkey run"? Trump is too easy of a target, it almost takes all the fun out of it. Almost.

of all the wasted crap that our tax dollars are used for, I`ll gladly shift some of that money to building a wall
I would not mind adding a moat full of these also.

One video did not get posted to go along with the previous. In earlier days, many opposed the Irish,Itailians, Eastern Europeans, etc.

The prejudice against Irish Catholics was big even during the election of J.F.K. Protestants were worried that the Pope would be the de facto ruler of the U.S. if J.F.K. was elected. Now the Catholics are ok and the Muslim religion and it`s practitioners are the enemy. You would think we would learn from the past, but we never do.

There has always been some that have opposed another group....this country was settled by some escaping intolerance and then do the same thing here. We had a fairly open door immigration policy until the mid-1920s.

Paul Ryan said it best "Its easy to be against things". The GOP has been against everything for so long they really haven`t a clue what they are for. Trumpcare failed. I didn`t want to see the Republican`s version of healthcare pass because it was a bad bill and punished the poor/elderly, but I want to see an improved version of the AHA. Obama gave the GOP many chances to sit at the table and create a bi-partisan healthcare bill but they refused on the grounds that Obama was Democrat and their job was to make him (or any Democrat) look bad, when in fact their job is to govern for all Americans. If politicians were not in the back pocket of every lobbyist and they weren`t afraid of not being reelected something good might come out of Washington. With the Republicans now in charge it is politics as usual, but worse!

I have no idea why they tried to force this healthcare thing through so quickly. It clearly needed a lot more time.

You had a point till this ^^^^

Do you not remember the o care was drafted in locked rooms, with NO input from anyone but their own advisors?
It was drafted based on lies and deceptions.......

The republicans tried to repeal it numerous times over the years, but had no viable plan to make it work. That should be the underlying fact.
