Controlling "exactly what people think" is the job of the media, MSNBC`s Mika Brzezinski boldly declared Wednesday morning.

While discussing President Trump`s entreaties to the American people to remain skeptical of the press, Bzezinski worried that if the economy turns south, Americans may end up trusting him over the media.

"And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think," Brzezinski said. "And that, that is our job."

The comment failed to raise any eyebrows from her co-panelists. Instead, her co-host, Joe Scarborough, said that Trump`s media antagonism puts him on par with Mussolini and Lenin.

SCARBOROUGH: "Exactly. That is exactly what I hear. What Yamiche said is what I hear from all the Trump supporters that I talk to who were Trump voters and are still Trump supporters. They go, `Yeah you guys are going crazy. He`s doing -- what are you so surprised about? He is doing exactly what he said he is going to do.`"
BRZEZINSKI: "Well, I think that the dangerous, you know, edges here are that he is trying to undermine the media and trying to make up his own facts. And it could be that while unemployment and the economy worsens, he could have undermined the messaging so much that he can actually control exactly what people think. And that, that is our job."

Mebbe if they reported real stories, instead of lies and exaggerations........ They would be considered "press", but in this case all he did was bar novel writers..

People fail to see that the media is really just a bunch of quacks out to push their own agenda.
 
Don`t say bad things about the King or you shall be hanged (or at least have your livelihood taken away). People are starting to fear the Orange One. Roger Waters of Pink Floyd fame is doing some fun stuff about Trump. Google "Pigs (Three Different Ones)" in Mexico. Even if you are too young to remember Pink Floyd you may find this entertaining or incendiary depending on your party affiliation. The flow of information (disinformation?) should remain open to all news outlets, even ones Trump doesn`t like. Censorship in any form should be protested and reviled. Next we will be forced to read Breibart for all of our "fake news". I would rather decide for myself what is real and what is fake. I don`t need Trump filtering my news.

Id rather be forced to read Breitbart than Upworthy, Buzz Feed and ThinkProgress.

I get it, there`s some very biased right winged news out there, but there`s also some complete garbage left wing news out there too. The difference is the ones I just mentioned get a TON of traffic on facebook and I`ve never once seen Breitbart on there because people would go nuts. Seems liberal garbage is accepted as "ok" anymore. I can`t imagine how this nonsense has been normalized to the point nobody even questions the sanity of it anymore.
 
honestly, I`d actually be ok with the msm if they would just own up to their bias. The problem is they try to pass themselves off as just reporting the honest unbiased truth which is garbage. Barry treated Fox news like crap, so I have a hard time having any sympathy for cnn now
 
New York Times itself reported in 2015, President Barack Obama met privately with liberal reporters and columnists frequently throughout his tenure in office — “more than a dozen” times. And although he occasionally invited conservative columnists, “Liberal-leaning columnists from newspapers tend to dominate at Mr. Obama’s secret sessions.”




Obama’s private briefings for liberal members of the media, which`excluded conservatives, were well-documented. A few:

December 2012: Several journalists reported that MSNBC hosts were meeting privately with President Obama to discuss the impending “fiscal cliff” fight.
May 2013: NPR’s Ari Shapiro reported that President Obama was meeting privately with “lefty columnists,” but hastened to add that there was “nothing nefarious” about it.
November 2013: President Obama met again with liberal journalists, as Obamacare struggled with the failure of healthcare.gov`and other problems.
March 2015: Politico’s media reporter, Hadas Gold, reported that “a group of journalists and columnists,” all on the left, met privately with President Obama, but the White House refused to say “who else was at the meeting or what was discussed.”

I have long since lost any believe that the media and career politicians care about anything but their on best interest and self promotion. I try my best to figure out what is a real fact and what is just conjecture or out right lying, it`s not easy and just keeps getting harder every year. I wonder if it will ever stop or get better or if we are just headed down a dark tunnel of total distrust of anything we dont see with our own 2 eyes.
