lord that was long windedFriend just sent me another email which I think is funny. Just to let some of the watchdogs know that I did not verify the facts in this email via Snopes or other sights. SO, just take it for what its worth!!
Just a modern version to an old fable.
The ANT
AND THE
GRASSHOPPER
This one is a little different .......
Two Different Versions .....
Two Different Morals
OLD VERSION: 1950
The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and
laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter,
so he dies out in the cold.
MORAL OF THE OLD STORY:
Be responsible for yourself!
2008--
MODERN VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat and the rain all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.
The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away.
Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while he is cold and starving.
CBS, NBC , ABC, MSNBC, PBS, CNN, and HLN
show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food.
America is stunned by the sharp contrast.
How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?
Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper and everybody cries when they sing, `It`s Not Easy Being Green..`
ACORN stages a demonstration in front of the ant`s house where the news stations film the group singing, We shall overcome.
Then Rev. Jeremiah Wright has the group kneel down to pray for the grasshopper`s sake.
President Obama condemns the ant
and blames President Bush, President Reagan, Christopher Columbus, and the Pope for the grasshopper`s plight.
Nancy Pelosi & Chuck Shumer exclaim in an interview with Chris Matthews & Brian Williams that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his "fair share" .
Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity & Anti-Grasshopper Act retroactive of course to the beginning of the Summer.
The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, so having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the Government Green Czar and given to the grasshopper.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper and his free-loading friends finishing up the last bits of the ant`s food while the government house he is in, which, as you recall, just happens to be the ant`s old house, crumbles around them because the grasshopper doesn`t maintain it.
The ant has disappeared in the snow, sadly never to be seen again.
The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident, and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize and ramshackle, the once prosperous and peaceful, neighborhood.
The entire Nation collapses bringing the rest
of the free world with it.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Be careful how you vote in 2018 and 2020
One more time.
First, yes, you stated I am an "elitist" but only you making that statement is consider a "fact". It is yet to be determined if I am "factually" an "elitist", hence it is your opinion that I am such.
Secondly, me stating that a policy put in place may have allowed this kid to slip thru the cracks is NOT me being "self-righteous". I have made a judgement yes, but not a hypocritical judgement but rather one based on "facts" that the schools and police agreed to look the other way and to not arrest kids for misdemenor crimes. Can you not grasp this difference?
Lastly, no it does not sound bad coming from others because you have made no sense in your explanation.
Anthony
Hello,
Actually, your post that contained that made no sense. You first state that a God is factual then claim, "Their is either one or not one" So how is that factual, that there is in fact a God? Sounds more like "maybe there is, maybe there isn`t" which is not factual.
You then state that "It`s just some people are right and some are wrong." About what?
Lastly, "God is good is an opinion" The very nature of God, at least the God revealed in Scripture, would declare Him Good. Perhaps you speak of god within an agnostic framework and one would then claim they can not truly know god therefore whether this god be good or not. Perhaps?
Take care,
Anthony
Anthony
wrong
you cast aspersions and make statements
cons>libs
fact
judgemental
my observing that does not make me judgemental
only observant
own it
unless what we have been taught as biblical `good` is bad
it is faith, not fact
Just a reminder to keep the personal finger pointing to a minimum. When the discussion is directed one to another, post after post, things can get sideways. Please keep the general nature of this discussion as personal observations/opinions and directed towards the forum as opposed to individuals. Anthony, artm3, these last few posts aren’t gaining ground and are just going back and forth, what’s said has been said. I appreciate your cooperation.
Saw that too. Very disheartening.

Yep, that is how I see it and I apologize if you do not see my logic!! Used to be there was 2 sides to a coin, nowadays there are 3, heads, tails, and those that are confused. Meaning that if the coin lands flat it can be either heads or tails or if it lands standing up on edge, it can go either way depending on ones interpretation.
I see your logic. It`s as I stated - a stretch to get there reasonably. So, maybe you should say,"Heads, tails, and those who try to confuse the two."
Back to topic.....
President Trump wants guns taken first then worry about due process. https://www.dailywire.com/news/27706/betrayal-trump-says-government-should-take-guns-ben-shapiro
Is this just Trump talking out of emotion or could he be serious? I tell you I am upset by his statements, just as I would be so no matter who is President.
let`s talk tariffs
in my opinion (and that of many other far more knowledgeable about these matters) a bad thing
we only get <3% of our steel from China
16% from Canada...who has alot of oil..surcharge to the US?
how about bmw, mercedes and vw closing us factories?
they buy german steel
move them offshore, export them to the us
no tariff on the steel used and no tariff on the cars
but I hope he does it
he did not ask me lol
I have no responsibilty
why do I hope? because his sole decision will screw the economy
and he will own it
not hoping for failure, I KNOW it will, the ??? is how bad
last time something similar was done circa 2004
inflation ramped
200k jobs lost
car sales tanked
I hope cooler heads prevail
but the aftermath should be entertaining

We`re all upset. Taking guns away from those that pose a clear danger? What`s next, letting trannies serve in our military? Not on my watch!
I`m going to hope and pray that the President and his Cabinet, etc., do what is the best for this country, and not hope he "screws" the economy, so he can "own" it..
I don`t think BMW will close their huge 2.2 billion dollar plant in Greer, South Carolina ever..
Its the 2nd largest manufacturing plant for BMW; the largest is still Dingolfing, Germany..
I believe this S.C. plant employs over 9,000 people..
I read in a Roundel not long ago that BMW is still expanding this plant..
They use a lot of earth friendly ways there to make it run including waste water reclamation, etc...
Quote from BMW Website --- "" Job Creation BMW"" (Spartanburg S.C.)
""Originally projected to provide 2,000 jobs, BMW Manufacturing now has 10,000 jobs on site. Add to that the companies required to supply and support the campus, and BMW provides jobs for over 30,000 South Carolinians. Lost in the numbers is the level of quality BMW is adding to the local labor pool.""
Would love to see BMW Spartanburg sometime, on my way over to visit The Super Wax Waster of All Time !!!!
